    My '94 T/A vs. '03 Mustang GT

So I'm driving on the freeway the other day and this mustang gt is messing with me the entire time trying to get me to race. The freeway had a bit of traffic and refuse to race near people just so everyone is safe. Once we were in front of all the traffic he stomped it. So I throw the pedal to the floor, my car downshifts (A4), and I started to catch right up Im next to him as we are approaching about 80mph and I hear this little whine coming from his engine compartment. Dude had a supercharger! But he obviously couldn't have been running too much boost because I caught up pretty quick. We got to 120mph, we both let off, and his nose was only about 2 feet in front of mine. All I have done is a K&N CAI and a Magnaflow catback which isn't hooked up at the moment. All I know he had for sure is a supercharger, and im pretty sure he had an intake and exhaust. In my opinion he should have smoked me but what do you guys think?

I think this should go in the kill section my friend.

Have you taken your car the the track yet?

A 4.6 that year is 260ish hp so with a sc who knows what kind of power he was making. What gearing does your car have? Depending on his gears and tune he could either smoke you bad or the outcome could have been what it was. In stock form they are not known for having much power past 3rd gear.

I took it to firebird intl raceway before the upgrades and ran a 15.3 and then right after the cai and catback i took it again and ran a 14.1

Have some trouble the first time I take it? lol

I am betting you can get that 14.1 down.

    Those cars run 14s stock.

I have a great rt and i keep the car in third past the 1/4 mile mark so it should be running all out. 14.1 is the fastest i can get it to run. And the stock intake had rat crap, pine needles and twigs in it when I ran it the first time haha. There were rats nesting in the engine compartment when I bought it.

What do you mean you keep it in 3rd? I had 2.73s in my car and it was getting in to 3rd/drive at about 95mph and the 3.23s would most likely shift a few mph before my 2.73s. Do you remember what your RPM was when you crossed the line?

That comes out 3.42ish gears. If you crossed at 4200 ish then it would be 3.23s.

You post your time here on the site?

No I havent posted my time yet. I want to break a 14 before I do haha. Do you think turning on the "transmission perform" would help with going a little faster?

What is the "transmission perform"? Do you have a pic of this button you speak of?

Is it traction control or something?

Its not traction control no. Its a button that you push that will make the car rev higher before it shifts and it also shifts firmer.

Can you take a picture of it?

I am sure that if that is a function it will make the car perform better.

And I don't think the LS1's came with a transmission perform button, only the LT1's, but I'm not quite sure. My buddy is looking at a 2001 Trans Am WS.6 Ram Air with an A4 and It doesn't have one either.

all it is is a button on the console that does just what op stated but a professional tune is better by far all the button does is change them into a "performance" mode but it barely helps the car

Very cool. Almost like a tow button, stiffer shifting....etc?

How do you tune that year LT1, its a "chip" car right or is the 94 not that way? I cant remember as my 94 Corvette wasnt a chip car from what I remember but my dads 93 is and I was under the impression F-bodies were a year behind. Cant remember anything though.....lol

no, it's not a chip car. there are a few free programs out there to tune a 94 or 95 LT1 and it is easier than my 96 ODBII car
