Hey guys i was just wondering but what does it take for a old style 5.0 mustang 5 speed to beat a stock ls1 6 speed from 15-110 mph?....just wondering....i dont believe in bench racing.

why are you comparing a 225hp 5.0 to a 346 320hp 5.7?...........what dont we go year for year....87lx 5.0 vs 87 fbody with a 350....i wont even metion the 305 5.0.....(you basic civic can give those a decent run hahaha)

but im assuming some random 5.0 wants to run you , which is why your posting this......with a 300+hp 4v they make me nervous...they have the best after market availible and are dirt cheap........with your luck its gonna be a 500+ turbo 5.0..(i dont know why but that set up seems to be very commen now...)....you dont think its odd a 5.0 wants to race hhahaha id think this one over...

5.0=the most sketchiest car to race...

I don't know for sure 'cause I've never had a 5.0 but I would think all the bolt-ons, .373 gears (supposedly good gears for those cars for street), sticky tires and very good driving. Maybe even a small shot of nitrous?

I don't know if less would do it, but I've seen a 150 shot give a 5.0 enough pull on the LS1 from a roll.

If you're talking about engine mods, it'd take a nice heads/cam/intake combo to get the 5.0 going faster than the LS1. Mine ran 11.9@113 mph n/a.

One of the easiest ways, would be by picking up an older Windsor 351, adapting everything (as far as fuel injection from the 302) to it, get an aggressive cam, work the stock heads, bump the fuel pressure, tune it, and hold on...

.......i cant wait till you blow your car up on that 200 shot......

not bad........320 hp car with a 200 shot running low 12s bravo hahahaha

.....a mess of boltons finally got u into the 11's hahaha

a 125 shot and a set of 373 gears in a 90 coupe will run 12.50s or 60s stock ls1 6speed still in the low 13s

my father's car is a 5.0 (302, stock bottom end) with bolt-ons and goes 11.7Xs at around 113-114

of course he also has unbolteds too...no PS, no AC, no back seat, no front swaybar, no tailpipes (dumps), no fogs or brackets...car weighs 3010 with him in it

i'll forgive you that you are confusing both cars, as i do have two of them. the black car is the one with a 200 motor rated shot that went 11.97 and 11.99 with regular 245/50-16 goodyear eagle HP tires all stock right down to the paper filter. if you want to compare the rwhp rating, it put 136 rwhp with that jetting. so, your 125 shot, is that rwhp rating or motor rating? and your high 11 wasn't completely stock either. keep trying.
