That is ONE dumb question dude..

some people just can't afford to mod their cars. what are they gonna do? drive like grandma untill they out an Intake or more in to the car?

I have a stock terminator, should stop racing now?

Race is for fun and i can understand even if you try to race on a Semi.

True, but come on, a Terminator isnt exactly what I would consider a stock car.

A stock car is one that no mods have been done to at all. The way it came from the factory. If it came from the manufacture at 400hp then that's what they rate them at. If it came with a turbo or supercharger on it from the factory that's a stock car.

im finding it hard to believe that a stock ss was only a car behind a supercharged cobra, but luckily outlaw is from st. louis so i may just get to see this in person. not sure about killing the vortech 97 cobra. my buddy has an 01 gt with the vortech and hes in the mid to high 12s depending on his launch. i guess anything could happen though.
id be honored to race an ss.......
i say fuck racing from a dig because it doesnt mean your car is faster if you win. im not saying i cant launch but if i have stock tread and running a guy with drag radials im at a slight disadvantage. im at a disadvantage anyway because im stock too. IMO a slight roll from 10 20 30 will determine the faster car and it is still very much a drivers race from a roll.
when i get a 12 bolt it will be all about the dig but i daily drive my beast and i dont have the time to get under there and fix or replace the 10 bolt i fucked up from launching.
    just my 2 cents...

Not judging anyone here, but I do wish I could understand why the verbal ju-jitsu takes place.

My 99 Z-28 is lightly modded and puts about 350 hp to the wheels. I will NOT street race anyone. I am interested in drag racing, but time is a constraint for me to get into it. Still, I see all kinds of cars that have been modded and would likely run great. The owner is enjoying a part of muscle cars that is sometimes overlooked - the quest for more horsepower. F/I, NOS, cams/heads, forged, stalls, ratios, air pressure, ice on the manifold, Put the gas can in ice prior to the run, whatever. I love that stuff and can appreciate the efforts made.

I saw a '03(?) Cobra just the other day at Auto Zone with the hood up. He was having some idle issues. The car was squeaky clean and had all kinds of aftermarket mods and what looked like a different SC. Young guy, maybe 20 or so. I figured if he was a good driver, he would take my best effort in the 1/4 by a couple of car lengths with what he had. Big deal. I was happy for him. He obviously works hard on that Cobra.

I'm not big on the foreign stuff, but if it makes the owner happy, okay by me. My LS1 moves out nicely, gets great mileage, and has lots of potential to improve. It will never be the top dog, but there can only be one of those. Is that really such a big deal?

they are the shit when your only slightly (and i mean slightly) modded with your f bod. anything after exhaust and gears and i think it would be pretty even. but i do like them, no matter how much trouble that statement gets me into.

it'll take more than exhaust and gears to hang with a Terminator, they're called that for a reason. especially if the cobra has any kind of mod

sorry i didnt mean literally just exhaust and gears but they arent some freaks of nature. 380 hp. thats not too expensive nor is it far off for an ls1 to get to.

well....ive seen a good race. one was a 2002 SS, SLP Loudmouth,90/90 intake,3.73's,LTs, and Et Streets against a 2003 Cobra with a bassani exhaust, and a pulley...they went from a dig and i remember the SS winning by about a cars length all 3 times..so its possible

yeah, i know and the ss probably had around 380. why people think that because its supercharged its automatically going to win is beyond me.

This is very true, but thats if you can still find a stock Terminator. Most have had at least exhaust and a KNN, which (believe it or not) adds 25-35 rear wheel horse, A KNN alone will give you 8-12 RWHP, these cars are breathing through a straw from the factory. Add a $400 tune job, and you are pushing 420 RWHP, Just 3 things to get you there. Now do a 2.8 pulley, which is less than $100 job, (do it yourself, its easy with a puller) and you are at 450-470 RWHP. Just 4 things to get a mid 11 sec car. (Low 11's with Drag Radials)

This is why people fear the Termys, because they are only 4 mods away from a beast, less than a 2500$ investment on your mods. not to mention that Ford underated them from the factory, they all really push 425 horsepower from the engine and 375 to the wheels. Hell MMFF's got the stock 03 termy to a 12.4 in 2 differant test, just by lowering the rear tire pressure. And alot of trys.
