    modded Cobalt SS kill

So I was at my normal spot to see some racing Friday night when I saw this kid in a Cobalt SS running up and down the road making some high speed passes. No one was running yet and he was just testing. Well, some kid next to me with another Cobalt SS was drooling over the one making the passes and said, "Damn, I'm hoping to be running that fast by late summer."

Being the smarta$$ I am, I replied with "Yeah, It would only take me pulling a couple plugs to run that fast." Well, that seemed to piss a couple people off. I was told that that SS would kick my ass and I shouldn't talk so much shit. So I said, screw it, I'll run him.

I think they were trying to scare me off from racing him because they were telling me he's got the fastest Cobalt SS in the state right now and he's putting over 300 hp to the wheels. I stuck to my guns and told them to line us up.

Heating up the Goodyear's before hand got me about three to four cars on the launch. I probably had about four or five on him by the little more than an 1/8 mile we ran.

Moral of the story... spend $23k on a brand new Cobalt SS. Dump a couple grand into it, and you'll almost be able to read the rear license plate at the end of the race. Have a nice day.

BTW, for anyone wondering, I'm damn near bone stock. FRA, ported MAF ends, TB bypass, K&N, Royal Purple throughout.

Way to go. I hate those cars and everyone driving them seems to drive it like an asshole. Cobalt = Domestic Rice

Yeah, I've learned how to get my M6 off the line in a hurry. I find holding the RPMs to about 2 grand, then feathering off the clutch and letting it roll a bit before hammering it seems to get me out of the hole pretty well.

    nope. I know, I'm pathetic.

Really, all my money is going toward my other car, my project.

'57 Bel Air 2 door post that I'm swapping the interior, engine, trans and front subframe of a '99 WS6 into.
