Modded '00 WS6 vs Vette vert

So my wife and I were going home tonight and there's a '00 - '04 Vette vert in front of us. Or at least it had the thin spoke wheels like those years do. Anyway he takes off pretty quick from the light but there was a truck next to him so we couldn't play. Then about 2 miles down the road we were next to each other and the light turned green when we were about 100 ft. from the intersection. I could tell he was driving a stick (me too) and just as I was next to him he punched it and so did I. I was in 3rd gear and he probably was too and we both should have been in 2nd to make it more impressive. I immediately started to pull and then hit 4th real hard and pulled again and then I got in front cause one of the lanes ended for our direction. Frequently, people are a-holes and would honk or tailgate or flash their lights at you because they lost but this guy just cruised along. It was nice.
My wife normally would start screaming and freaking out but this time she was actually happy and impressed that we took a Vette. I told her it's a good thing we won since I probably have 80 or so more HP.
Anyway, it was a good night.
