Me vs friends 01 SS - VIDEO

We had just got done working on my car, and fixed a couple issues, so we decided to go out and have some fun yesterday...

His car : 2001 SS, P/P throttle body, air lid, free mods, removed cats, 275 Nittos, and 4.10's.

I know I need to work on shifting faster.. if I would have done that better I think I would have won.. When he hit his brakes and had passed me, we JUST reached the point we agreed to stop at, so he pulled on me at the very last second.

yeah I'm practicing lol! I have my 4.10's sitting in my room waiting to be installed, so between those and me improving my shifting I'll definitely have him next time

He only pulled at the VERY end though, like a quarter of a car at the very end right before we got to the spot we agreed to stop.

That race is confusing ? He has 4.10s but you beat him down low and he took you up high ???? Overall performance wise you guys are pretty close but that just seems bassakwards to me.....Good run anyways.

No I doubt it.....Driver mod on both sides, you should have got raped out of the hole and took him top end....But on another note put those damn gears in lol....

I PUT 4.10'S IN AND LOST 1ST GEAR COMPLETELY FROM A DEAD STOP
OR AT LEAST IT WAS PRETTY USELESS UNTIL I GOT SOME 305 NITTOS OUTBACK

yeah, maybe a bit of both.. i just had a better launch, but because of my slow shifting he pulled at the very end

The OP is absolutely right IMO. The 4.10s are not going to help on the launch as much as a set of sticky tires.
