Me vs Coyote 5.0 then vs 2010 SS Camaro

okay I'm not sure if this belongs here or the drag racing bit because it was at the tuesday Test-N-tune, but I ran a new coyote 5.0 standard trans w/cold air intake, and borla exhaust.

    Time slip:
    ME 5.0
    R/T: .108 .052
    60: 2.135 2.055
    330: 5.848 5.719
    1/8: 8.839 8.645
    MPH: 83.18 86.30
    1000: 11.352 11.229
    1/4: 13.460 13.352
    MPH: 106.34 107.24

I was kicking myself the whole time because I was running 315's in the back which slowed me down. My car typically on factory width 275 rubber runs 13.0XX @ 108.XX

Now the 2010 camaro SS was just embarrassing. Sorry to all the ladys, but this hot maybe 20 something blond was behind the wheel. I don't think she could drive. Her best that night was against me and she ran 14.082@100.25MPH to my 13.390@105.76 MPH. Her and my buddies VW put on a closer show.

there's no way a new 5.0 ran that slow with those mods. according to the fanbois it should be running 6's @ 1 bazillion mph. needs a driver mod for sho!

was the new camaro an auto or standard?

good run, i'm a old school 5.0 guy and that seems about right for an average driver behind a new school 5.0.

Nice run. Looks like maybe you were nervous against the new 5.0, and spun your tires off the line? Next time, just take him down!

I'm trapping 108 with just bolt-ons and was running 13.4's stock, There has to be more than just tire weight that is slowing you down.

elevation is like 500 ft, but the air temp Tuesday night was 90+ and humid as all get out.

Still I have been noticing that my car is NOT putting down near the numbers it should be.

+10000000 I'm putting down times the same as bolt ons with my H/C and mines a bit more aggresive then yours. I'm on mail order tune compared to a dyno which I expected that. Dyno numbers are usually for shits and giggles compared to times, "BUT" they will let you know if something is wrong at the same time.

It's been hot as hell here too, temps in mid-upper 90s and humid. I've noticed my car down on power also. Better temps starting today tho.

Yes, It put down 370rwhp. I'm looking at getting it re-tuned soon as I can find a shop around here. the guy I had is facing a divorce, so he sold his shop.

your mods look identical to mine. you have a few more things done and my heads might be a little better than yours since they are "stage 1.5"

    whats your times look like?

I ran a 13.21 at the track on a very hot night with nothing but headers. Working on my heads right now. There was a pretty heavily modded gt at the track that same night, 2010, running 12.9s.

I just put stage 1, I don't really know. They are LS6 heads ported and polished and milled to 64cc compared to 64.43cc for stock LS6 heads and 67cc for LS1 heads. No times, haven't dyno tuned yet.

I pulled 13.2 at 108 with just exhaust and a lid. Maybe your tune is off?
