You guys should race eachother at a track. See if you can get any better grip there, the last time i was there i went agaisnt my girlfriends cousins 5.0 which made 622rwhp he ran a 13.1 because he had some really old street tires on that, a 13.1 at 124mph. Too much moeny spent on motor and tranny and ECU, not enough left for tires lol. I have seen him pull the shit out of 03+ cobra with a loud ass supercharger on the freeway, but he cant beat me in the quartermile lol.

You all seem to be neglecting the fact that stalled+geared A4 takes down geared M6. Just get a stall and spank him.

I think the post regarding the 3.73s was referring to Rikki's Z28.

IC, so a stalled an gear auto takes down a stick gear ls1, thats a general statement lol, i have seen stalled gear and cammed autos run low 12s, with gears and a cam setup is what i will be running. They are more consisten on times yes. Doesnt mean they are always faster. With drag radials i would be in the 11s easy. I have seen stalled ls1s with bolt ons run mid to high 12s which is what i run with just 3 bolt ons.

If you go manual you will have a higher chance of breaking the rear than with the auto first off. Second off wasting the money and time to swap an auto out for an M6 is not worth it if all you do is drag race. Do you have 3.23's or 2.73's? If you have the 2.73's and drop in the M6 you will slow down. First gear is higher (lower numerically) and you will notice your out of the hole is shat unless you put in the 3.42's that come with all m6's. Which I'm sure has more to due with the et differences than the parasitic losses of the auto. Plus you can't shift as fast as that fluid can no matter what you do or try to do. Do this, get a shift kit, stall (3500) and at least 3.73's and I garuntee you, you'll change your mind about wanting the six speed. My Camaro (Auto) is my race car my GTO is my driver (M6) and wouldnt have it any other way. Only reason I can think of ditching the auto is for autocrossing. Drag racing stalled auto > M6. Why do you think the big boys don't use sticks they are either built auto's or planetary lencos with no need for a clutch pedal. Imagine a Top fuel dragster trying to shift gears correctly in a 4-5 second run?

Yes well they dotn use them cause theres a point where you reach enough power where it isnt possible to keep up with and auto. But until i reach 1400rwhp ill stick with M6.

It all comes down to personal choice but really autos are better for drag racing. You can still build them up, never miss a gear, get great launches, ect. ect. but will eat more gas and less fun to drive.

No just less fun, auto are so boring, i had had an auto f-bdoy with 3.73 rear end gear and a shift kit, no stall but eh, it was a blast for the first year, then i just got bored, now that i have a m6 i dont know how i had fun with a auto. But thats just me i get bored with things and need to upgrade to whats more fun.

You should try a stalled car, of any kind. Its a completely different beast.

You dont understand the whole reason i like stick is becuase i have control i do the shifting. Its up to me to make the car fast not the car, Wit ha stall you still dont have to shift with a clutch. Thats the whole point i like it. I know stalls make the car damn near .6 faster in the 1/4. Stick is far more fun. You have a m6 dont you?
