LS1 Vs. Honda S2000
Now, I have no clue what S2000's run and how badass they're spose to be. I was driving to "Primetime Billiards" in Sayreville NJ on Rt 9... I saw some blue HID's riding my blindspot on the left of me, I figured it was a Benz or something. He revved it up and once he saw me turn and look at him he hit it! I smiled at him and hit it... He got his nose in front of mine and we were maybe around the 90mph mark. He gets all the way over in the left lane and I stay over to the far right and I jump maybe a car length in front of him for about a 1/8mile and shut it down... he couldn't get back over to me, all this traffic boxed him in after we slowed up and I eventually turned into the Billiards... Damn you again you Sunday Drivers!! Hehe...

My sisters friend has one. He came over to her house with it and I said let's run 'em on the BLVD. He makes excuses "Nah I just got it" "Nah I want to break it in slow"....blah blah blah. The on ething he said that stuck with me to this day was this..."You'll jump out on me because of the torque you have, but I'll catch you once I rev up top" I replied back "Yes since LS1's are known for having such weak top ends"

If an LS1 had the correct cam and head and motor work for 9000rpms it would produce around 680rwhp in all motor form. A S2000 produces around 195rwhp at 8400rpms.

It's not an LS1 but here's some S2K perspective. I had a bone stock 89 Vette with an automatic and ran a buddy's 01 S2000, all he had was a CAI. Took the interstate durning the overnight....first run was from a stop. With the good low end torque of the L98 I quickly got a 1.5 lenths off the line. But when I hit 3500 rpm it was all over for me. He shifted to 2nd he quickly evened it up. At 70 mph he was ahead a half a lenth and pulling slowly. At about 100 he was 1.5 cars ahead. Next we did a 30 mph roll, he pulled 3 lenths on me like I was standing still!
S2000 needs to stay in VTEC, over 6500rpm, to be effective. Off the line they don't have much since all the power comes on up high. Since an LS1 has nice low end torque and a vastly better top end power than the old L98 in that Vette, that race would have been very different in my WS6.
