Killed by a Supra last night......

I let the V8 world down last night with a 1/4 loss to a single turbo Supra. My car isn't running right but no one else wanted to step up including a very fast SS and just sick C6Z. Not wanting him to think he ruled the streets I told him lets go.

My car is blown but something is drastically goes wrong at 5k RPMs. I probably shouldn't even be running it but my curiousity got the best of me. Supra says he's pushing right at 700 on race gas and in the fives on pump gas. I ran him on pump gas.

We launched about the same but were rushed as traffic was coming behind us, so I didn't get the launch I wanted to. That's where my advantage would have been from. Forgot to take off traction control and that kicked in on the 1st to 2nd shift. Shifting at 5k sucks and I don't get a chance to build boost or sustain any power and once in 3rd he started pulling pretty easy. I'd say he got me by about 5 cars in the end.

He then ran a 600 from a roll and got owned, probably at least by 10 cars.

Fun night though and can't wait to get her running right.

P1SC-1 procharger. Supposed to be making 523 at the tires at 6k rpm but can't come close to that as it sits.

Eh....I lost a while back to a turbocharged golf by not taking off traction control. It applies your breaks so you beat yourself. Its not that bad.

If you hate your car now for loosing to a toyota, you can just simply donate it, i would glady take that burden off your hands. Who needs a 500+ RWHP vette anyways?

    Single turbo Supra's are deadly.
Nice death! Def get in the habit of taking off the traction control man, and get your car retuned...

    The Supra is king.

Can't find'm for sale. If you do they are high dollar.

They are the winner of the twin-turbo wars of the 90's. By far the fastest car in its class at the time. And with tons of aftermarket potential.

No shame in losing to one. I too, have had my ass handed by one... although that was a few years ago.

Umm...TCS doesn't apply your brakes it temporarily stops your accelerator. I can see how it could be confused since you feel like you're slowing down.

The TCS is hooked directly into your ABS system. If your ABS goes out so does your traction control.

The first rule when you start to lose traction is to let off the accelerator. If you apply the brakes you can instantly make it worse.

Just because the two systems are on the same electrical system doesn't mean that one controls the other. The reason they are on the same system is they use the same sensor to tell if your brakes are locking or if one tire is spinning excessively.

Let's say you're at a stoplight on wet pavement. The light turns green and you press too firmly on the accelerator pedal. There is slick asphalt under your tires and the wheels begin to spin. The traction control system instantaneously kicks in, sensing that the wheels have begun to slip. Within a fraction of a second, this data is fed back to the control unit, which adjusts throttle input and applies braking force to slow the wheels (some older systems also retarded engine spark). The wheels are thus prevented from spinning and the car maintains maximum traction.

How about we call it a draw?
