Killed another civic...

lol...so as Im on my way home from my girlfriends house this civic is racing through traffic towards me and does a ricer flyby...so I dont give it up and I give him the same treatment he tries to give me... So then we come to a stop light...."awesome, this guy doesnt know whats about to hit him" So we pull off from the light and I am putting space between us little by little.. I shutdown at 70 and he does another flyby. I probably had about 3CL on him. I asked him what his mods were and he said "headers, exhaust, cold air"..i was thinking "damn, I just beat you with a friggin stock 4.3 lol" ohh well it was fun

(((I have a quesion while Im here...my 4.3 has 73,XXX on it and when I get on it real hard I can hear a whine coming from the engine, im thinking its my crank making this noise since its spinning fast, is this a bit overkill to run my engine like this at its stage in life?)))

i would say negative. If youve done your maintenance on your engine then that engine should last you for a long time. 73k miles is not that much now a days. What about the belts? They might be worn out. Nice kill by the way

check your power steering fluid level when it gets a little low it will whine or at least it did on mine

There was a 4.3 Extreme running at the track last night. I was kinda disappointed when he couldn't better a 16.3

Had to be a 4.3 because I know the 4 cylinders are like running down the track......

it sounds like its coming from the right side of my dash..almost like a belt winding on a wheel..but slipping at the same time. Its hard to describe but it makes a whining noise when i put it anywhere pass 4k rpm

in my old car, keep in mind it was an import so it could be nothing of the sort, my clutch was shot and something was messed up in my transmission as well and when i went upwards of 4500 rpms it would squeal like what you're saying... not to scare you but i went ahead and did a engine swap and tranny swap so i couldnt tell you what the exact problem was

Hmm didn't know how to drive maybe? My brother's Stock 4.3 extd cab S-10 (reg not extreme) went 16.1 with his peg-legger spinning one wheel through the whole 60'. Got like a 2.6+ 60' that run.
