I hope I made you all proud with this kill...
Video is at the bottom of my post.
Went street racing this weekend and raced a Mach 1 and a SRT-8 charger.
Mach 1 stock:
He said it had 3.73's, stock tires, manual, i asked if everyone of these had a manual and i guess theres a few out there that are auto...
1st race: Pretty close off the line, we both spun a tad, but by the time it was time for my a4 to shift i probably had a car on him and beat him by two maybe at about 110 or so. He said he left his traction control on so...
2nd race: Same thing, until I hit the shifter and it went into OD. There was a car coming our way before we lined up and when I backed up I must of put it in D on accident and when it went into OD i lost about 2 cars cuz it screwed up my shift point or something.....yea so...
3rd race: About the same result as the first so we were done...so I went 2/3.
The cops came and we left to find another location....
SRT-8 Charger:
Has exhaust, CAI, and tune I guess...puts him at 383RWHP..
He got me off the line by a car or so and kept pulling and probably put 2 cars on me by the time we shut it down at 110 or so. Damn that thing could pull....
So I think I did ok with my mods...let me know. I got SLP lid, QTP headers, ORY, Mag. Catback, and some Firestone Wovals 245's. I did a burnout before every race so I hooked ok.
I got a ride along with an SRT-4. Not sure of all his mods but it's pretty dang quick from a roll, otherwise it spins as soon as he hits the 75 shot. He shifted into 4th at like 100 and it chirped the tires. Takes a lot of cars from a roll, dig, not so much, has to play catch up everytime.
I start at 1:38 that's the 2nd race and the 3rd follows, they must not of gotten the first. Then you see me losing to the charger way later.

i would think you coulda taken that srt8. do you have a tune?

Thx guys. I was hoping to at least get close to a tie..no i have no tune. So maybe i'm not running to my full potential? I've been wondering about doing a cam and stall and i wanted to wait on the tune since they are on the pricey side and do it after the cam/stall. Another ls1 raced him; he has a cutout i believe and 3.73s and the result was about the same as mine. He's an m6 though and doesn't spin.
With my mods I'm thinking I'm at about what?.....330RWHP? And he has 383RWHP and what? +600lbs for him? He said it was running very strong that night too.

According to this the Mach 1's come with 3.55's. Anyone know if they came with 3.73's...cuz that's what he said he had...or maybe he didn't know and was agreeing with me....as for the charger....i could race him again, i see him at every meet it seems like, but damn, he launches perfectly every time and hooks like no other. I doubt I can beat him. Damn, if i were to buy a family sedan, that would be it, cuz that thing sounds damn sexy.

Also, I heard these mach 1's can run 13.3 stock..anyone know more about this. Or was this just a very good day for a stocker mach 1? Motor trend says on wiki that an m5 runs a 13.2...dang. That's pretty cool if I'm running 13.1 or so. Never taken it to the track.

sounds about right. using the guesstimate of 18% drivetrain loss 425 * .82 = 348 rwhp + mods.

Oh ok, im lost too, what does the LT1 and LS1 have to the crank and to the wheels? stock casuse i heard that LT1 has 275/285 to the wheels and to the crank which one is it? and the LS1 is 350 to the crank and 300 to the wheels? im lost guys help me out

Mach 1's all come stock with 3.55s. 3.73s are a complete and total waste of time/money in those cars.

i raced a Mach 1 at the track, he ran 8.6 (1/8) and i ran 8.5 (1/8), he said he ran 13.2 in the 1/4, my car is stock with flowmaster cat-back

LS-1s have between 300-330 at the crank and around 300 at the wheels, this is kind of the average, there is some with more and some with less, as far as LT-1s go I think they had between 275-300 at the crank and 230-260 at the wheels, again some had more some had less.

Tune on a charger? Last I heard no one has been able to sync with dodges engine management system to be able to do a correct "tune" on the new engines. I know one of the tuner shops was talking about it. Friend gave up trying to hop up his dakota because he couldn't find anyone to tune it after the cam so he sold it an dbought an SRT 10 truck. Oh and they did make auto Mach 1's another coworker has a blue on. He won't race either, says "it will be worth too much to rag it out" LOL
