Honda vs. Honda
Tonight I got see HONDA POWER!!! and the almighty VTEC lol. The are both my buddies. The race was between a early nineties CRX with a slightly built N/A ZC engine and a early nineties acura integra with a b16 vtec swap. The race was from a 20mph roll. Im the pass. in the CRX and I counted down from 3-2-1 and they took off. Instantly the CRX pulls a car. By 115 the CRX had put five car lengths on the integra. Needless to say my CRX buddy was pretty pumped that he smoked the b16. But I about shit when he told me how much money he had in his car. Including the price of the car he has 7,000 dollars in it. And that was with his shop class doing all the labor on the motor. But hey to each his own.
I will admit it was fun racing, it sorta reminded me of racing go-carts.

LOL, well atleast they are kinda built!...
I have to sit through my friends racing a Stock 98 Accord 4cil. and a Stock 2.0L Jetta... you have NO idea how sleepy those races make me... I'd probably be able to take a long nap, wake up and the race would probably not even be over yet....

lol, year It did take them forever to get to 115. I wish I had a slightly modded 3.8 to shame both of them

My friend has a 99 accord the v6, and he races v-tec cars all the time. Noone seems to know that the v6 accord was a 3.0liter vtec motor that made 240hp, he smokes stock integras and civics all the time, its hilarious.

There is an accord that lives across the railroad tracks from me, Every morning he pulls out and revs the dang thing for 9 billion RPM and he dont shift for like 2 mins between gears, He has a Damn 4" fart can on it. One morning im going to be waiting for him to pull out and send a 10gage shell through his radiator!!!
I have seen 2 actually built honda's around me, One had a B18b turbo on 12PSI, Had a very nice pull to it. His best was 8.80@89MPH in the 1/8 and a CRX im not sure which engine, it was N/A but he ran 9.00's I was impressed!!

The CRX is built for a turbo he just doesnt have the money for one right now. His valvetrain is rated a 11,000rpms... but once again he has 7,000 bucks in his car the b16 integra only cost the other kid 1,300 bucks

Isnt the b16 the civic si motor, makes 165hp and 120ftlbs and the integra GSR motor is 195hp like 135ftlbs, so he spent 1300 dollars and doesnt even have a car as fast as a normal v-tec integra, or v-tec civic because the civic is 300lbs lightier

Yeah they weigh 2500lbs, and civics weigh 2100-2200 which is why they come with more power. Too make up for the weight

The kid with the CRX I respect, he did most of the motor work himself. And instead of doing a turbo on stock internals and head, he did all supporting mods. He has a built valvetrain, low comp. pistons, forged internals... Hes just getting money together for his turbo right now.

i have no respect for the vehicles because a already built one in the past and they arent anything to brag about... you can put that same amount of money into a real motor and get even more power... thats like saying hey lets put 7 grand into a lawn mower so we can keep up with a car....
