Mmmkay. Some people think 24" Wagon Wheels on old Buicks are cool too, but I digress.

ImpalaSSpeed96....always good to hear it when something runs better. How about the ET?

Bob, Timmay, please. I hate it when people call me by my screen name. Thats why I almost always make sure its out there.

I was playin w/ the GD intake on and off because I can't believe the tuning issues these LS2s have... Whole nother topic. Best pass of the night went 13.64 @ 100.47.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming, deush bags.....

I agree with everything else but calling BS on a bone stock LS-1 GTO running a 13.1. Either it had 50hp over stock or 500lbs less than stock. I've driven the LS-1 6M GTO and wasn't impressed. I've raced the LS-2 and left impressed. No way will the LS-1 run 13.1 stock. More importantly, what trap speed??

Call BS - it matters not to me (I don't own one, and never have). MPH is in the 105 range (though I have no idea why that would be "most important" when talking about a drag race). If you'd like to check it out for yourself, go visit www.ls1gto.com. Do some searching. 2 or 3 folks have done it.

Because the mph is an indicator of hp. And a 13.1@105 means those 3-4 people in the entire world with a "stock" car got a better launch than the notoriously tricky GTO is a capable of stock, with stock tires. BS. That would make 3-4 in the world running 12.6s with LS2 GTOs.

Ok. Those 3 or 4 people are lying, you're in denial, and I think its all funny. Life is grand.

BTW...did you happen to go look for yourself, or are you scared of what you might find over there?

And please continue with the drag racing lessons. I'm a newbie and need em.

    Thanks.

That 13.1 is a freak of a time for a LS1 Goat. Hell, my buddies 05 only went a best of 13.19 on street tires the other night once he learned how to launch it. He took it from a 13.5 down to the 13.1 and 2.1 60's to 1.9s. Most stock LS1 Goats I've seen go about 13.8. I've seen them go faster but not by much if they are stock. I missed what the couple there last night were running.

There is no doubt that 13.1 would be the exception vice the rule. That's very similar to the bone stock LS1 F-body that goes 12.8, or the 03/04 Cobra that goes 12.4, or even the 02-04 Z06 that runs high 11s. It takes a good driver, a good track, and good air. But it does, and has happened. All one needs to do is some research to see for themselves.

Personally, the quickest bone stock 04 I've seen with my own beedy little eyes went 13.2x at MIR back in 2004 (the 05s were barely out). Good air, good track, excellent driver.
