Got killed by a three wheel CAR!!!

I was in two turn lanes waiting at the light to turn left. I had been there for probably a full minute with no other traffic in either lane. When the light turns green I slowly turn left and row through the gears to third, maybe doing 35, and I'm in the lane that the second turn lane has to merge into because the road narrows to a two-laner. Right about where the arrows to merge end, I look in my rear-view and I can see this little car that is similar to the Wii guys car. It is going for all it is worth and he "screams" by me at maybe 40 to make the pass.

    I was so humiliated.

Actually I about pee'd my pants I was laughing so hard. The car looked like a circus clown should jump out of it, and it only had ONE rear wheel!!!

He "owned" me with a massive 70 horsepower or so................

I see you're from Richmond. Do you happen to have an opinion on Rodney Monroe (the out-going police chief)? He is going to start in Charlotte soon.

I have high hopes for him.

crazy thing is some of those 3 wheel cars haul some serious ass! The one called the raptor has a busa motor. Highly unlikely that was what you saw cause you would have heard it and he would have been smoking rear tire the whole way. But yea those other three wheel cars are a crock and even raptor is dangerous, three wheels is bad design imho. Busa motor in smart car is badass though.

Yeah, I actually tried to find it on the internet, but didn't get a match yet. I saw a couple of those designs that posted remarkable 0-60 times. One was under five seconds and had a top speed of 170. No thanks, it's got to be a death trap.

The one the other night was decidedly NOT a high-performance one!

Here's a link to one that does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed over 200mph! Way over 1g on the skidpad too. Different wheel setup though.

I can't believe they let that crap in the states,,,,yet when they brought over the Holden from Australia they had to redesign a shlew of crap to make it conform to US safety standards,,,,,so how the hell are 3 wheel pieces of junk coming in and getting tagged and driven over here????? Those things look like a death trap on wheels,,,,

i know that here in canada the damn things are made legal because of some loophole that makes it comparable to a motorcycle... theres probably some similar loophole in states. but yea, as a car, there is no way they meet safety standards. i mean, look at it... (i want one).

That is the TriVette 3 wheeler. I'd drive it.

It'd probably outrun my SS too.

Thanks, I was figuring there was some loophole or something to get those things over here.
