Got killed...In need of DR's or better driving skills
So i leave my neighborhood and at the first light is a brand new Lotus(not sure what model) it still has the dealer plates on it. He doesn't rev or anything so i don't launch the car take off a little faster than normally and he doesn't go at first stays stopped at the light then launches his car. I get on it and i can't get traction in the top of first or through second, so i got smoked. To bad, my favorite thing to beat is high priced exotics. I probably would have lost anyways seeing how he blew by me even before i could step on the gas but i ordered some Nitto DR's so this won't happen again or at least by a car that i'm capable of beating. There's a country club within a few miles of my house so there's always nice sports car rolling around my area.

yeah just ordered my ls7 clutch kit today and the dr's are supposed to arrive tomorrow. Should have 4.10's in it within a month then its to the track for some times. Hoping for high 11's but knowing its my first time i know it probably won't happen, i've only been driving a stick for 3 months granted i do drive big rigs daily but its not exactly the same thing.

I looked up the model i think it was and it runs a 13.5 or a 12.8 depending if it had the optional supercharger on it.
And its not the amount of gears that make it different its the fact that if you float the gears and don't use the clutch or double clutch you still have to match the rpm's with the gear for your speed for it to fall into gear.Last edited by sfletch2000; 05-21-2007 at 10:18 PM.

Lesson learned. Get those Nitto's installed and it will be a diff story.
Warning: High HP + Stickies = Grenaded 10 bolt

Yeah but i have a non factory warranty that covers the differential and free towing so if that thing goes i only have to pay a fifty dollar deductable.
Plus its not like their slicks so i should get some use out of them before it goes.

no shame in losing to a lotus those cars are amazing (minus the toyota engine). they weigh less than 2000 lbs.

well i was talking from an appearance/handling and design standpoint not a whole lot to do with straightline performance although you can read above how one smoked a 407 rwhp ws6. sure and ls1 go cart would rule.

with tires it would stand no chance against my ls1... and they just arrived this afternoon so i don't see any problem smoking a 12.8 second quarter mile car
