I am not a big fan of the foxbodies only I know they can be made fast easy and cheap but I am into style as well. I rather have a newer slower mustang over a faster fox. And yea I would of chosen a stock GTO over my friends fox

If a fox body and GTO were doing a roll race, which this was correct, the ls2 makes more than 330rwhp stock, if that foxbody was making 330 yes it would win, its lighter, but i dont think he could have gone before your friend shifted and the a little later you had bus lengths. What happened is the GTO went first saw you werent goin let off then you blew by him got bus lengths and you thought he was still goin.

yeah but once you see that someone isnt goin soem people let off, he was probably still in the gear he started from and just let of the gas so the rpms were still high and loud but he wasnt actually goin, or it coudl be your friend has an insane stang, but with only 330rwhp on a roll race, you wouldnt go 1 secodn after him and then pull bus lengths.

Even if it was they were 2 people in the car making it over 3000lbs atleast.

Hmm... At 3100 lbs w/ driver, my old stang at 320 rwhp went 113 mph - 112.9 to be exact. The GTO goes what 105-106? Just guessing, but if they run the same or slower than the old stock LS1 F-bodies, this guy's story isn't inconceivable. My old combo reeled LS1s in pretty quickly. Sounds like this guy got a slight jump from a low gear and ended up way behind.

He might be exaggerating/ embellishing a bit. Whether he put a couple car lengths or bus lengths, does it really matter?

WEll bus lengths are more than a couple cars, i beat a pretty stout mach 1 the otehr day by 1 car, or maybe it was bus lengths guess it doens matter. is this fast and the furious it doesnt matter if you win be inch or a mile. The ls2 GTOs can run high 12s stock and trap at 108 wit ha good driver. In a roll race i just dont see a 330rwhp car that weighs 3100lbs against a 340-350rwp car that weighs 3800lbs goin second and winnign by bus loads, not to mention the ls2 has a wicked powerband. I ahve taken GTOS and i have a couple friends with 300rwhp+ foxbodys and they dotn pull me by buslengths infact on a roll i only lost to 1 with a 367rwhp 91 lx which i lost by 2-3 cars wit h337rwhp trans am.

Ok maybe not bus lengths but it sure did seem like it tho.
And no car was not lightened, in fact it had a bunch of shit in the back, my friend doesnt really give a damn about weight in his car.

The goat has 30 more hp but almost 1000 lbs. Fox bodies can be made quick especially with their low weight. This kid i know had a forged 306 in his.... claimed 500 hp lol, it was pretty quick until we went for a ride and he flipped it into the woods. Thank God i'm alive.
I've never seen a hi powered Fox body before but a lady at my dyno shop loves those old 302s and said it's hard to keep them in a straight line when they get up in power. Your story doesn't surprise me.

I mean a 500hp 302 that doesnt have nos or forced induction is hard to achieve. 500rwhp on all motor 302 i dont think so. Ther good little motors to get forged internals and then boost.

Nah, I don't see a 302 putting that out.... Maybe a 347, but that's even steep for one of them. I've seen a 347 put out 527 at the crank though, with AFR185s.

Where did the 500 hp thing come from?

Came from this kid saying he said his kid he knows said his forged 306 made 500hp. Most people when they say that mean rwhp, cause who dynos just an engine.

Quite a few people actually to see what its got before you put it back in. Engine dynos are cheaper than a chasis dyno......

Imm talking about to "own" and I have seen several shops that build motors that have them, they run them print out the sheet for the customer and ship it to them....

Well yeah shops, but i was assuming for osme reason this kid buitl his own engine. Cause thats what i do build it yourself then go see what power it gets to the wheels. I just wanna know what im getting the ground.

Well, is all you have to do is figure if your a manual or auto and what kind of dyno.....like for instance, I tell you I have 470-480ish rwhp, or I tell you I have 540-560ish hp....what sounds better?.....LOL

Yes but different auto setups and different m6 trannys allow more to get to the ground. I have seen ford 260hp at the crank and only get 180rwhp. autos, now 20% of tranny lose, thats what they say autos loose. Well if you do the math 180rwhp out of a 260 crank motor is around 35% lose. So you cant always just say well i have a manual i loose 15%. The truth is you dont know until you dyno what you make at the rear wheels.

It varies slightly, car to car, drivetrain......yada,yada, yada.....but that is close, 15-18% on man. and 20-23 on auto, give or take a few % points due to "dyno", Mustang, Dyno-jet, Dyno-mite, ect.....
