Yea the 3800 is an all around better engine than just about any other GM V6 ever made. The T-Types back in the day where kings of the street. A little boost on those things goes a long way.

The 3.8L T-type is in no way a 3800 and should not be spoken of as such..
A 3.8l is NOT a 3800.. Block trouble plagued the 3.8 buick T-types..
Still awesome imho.. But the 3800 is far and away the better of the two..
Only the "pink" 3.8l BOP engine was worth a shit back in the T-type days..
The 3.6L dohc DI 660 v6 is an even better engine.
Makes almost twice the power with less CID and is all aluminum..
Makes over 300 crank without the need for a flower or spool..
The more modern 660 is replacing most 90* v6's in just about everthing.. With the last being the 3800-Series III..
The 3800 being better than most other GM v6's just is'nt true..
But it is an excellent engine and has an after market to boot..

I was'nt raggin' on the 3800-II.
I've enjoyed my y87 every year now for about 5-6 yrs..
Facts are facts, and I try to be honest even when it comes to engines up my alley..
But they have been discontinued and replaced with the more technologically advanced 60* v6..
Which just so happens to be my fav GM v6 platform..
No disrespect intended..

Yep, when you told me of her first kill, I was grinning from ear to ear I know that those V6 Birds are nothing to snub your nose at, i've owned a few V6 cars my self
