    01 TA and 01 Lightning

    firebird against Lightning ??

    just wondering how you LS1 guys with basically stock cars have run against lightnings...

    I saw the one post, but that isn't really a true race. The truck would be pushing about 11 lbs of boost, long tubes, and tuned for methanol injection. the Ls1 would have the slp air lid with a k&n.

    Down low that could be true...on a highway run the ls1 will always get the Lightning...now for the 1/4 mile...it would be pretty close....a real drivers race

    A supercharged TA ran a 13.8x to the L's 13.4x? there's something wrong with that isn't there?

    Yes that T/A's not set up right. If you pause the vid close to the end you will see the times are T/A 13.48 to 13.41 Lightning.

    I raced the T/A later that day and beat him 13.37 to 13.45 (his best run that day) plus a hole shot my .27 to his .4 reaction time.

    I know the guy and his car has been featured in a UK magazine and they are claiming 420hp with the Votech V2, but there is no way he's making any where near that amount of HP. I have seen the car run for about 2 years now with this setup and 13.4 is what he usually runs, he does have a 12.9 with his 50 shot of nitrous. He runs in a race series in the UK called Street Racer Series and he was pretty pissed when a Fairly stock LS1 beat him.

    Only real mod that make any difference to my 1/4 time is a TCI 3000

    i said the same thing but then reread and it is an lt1, not ls1.

    I don't get! just because it's an LT1 doesn't explain it! if he's making the claimed 420hp that Vortech says it should have he would be running low 12's or even 11's surely!

    Nothing tuning cant compensate for. Plenty of FI cars puting out big numbers.

    For any stock to stock race I had with them.....

    Down low, the lightning has a traction problem.

    Up top, they have an aerodynamics issue.

    They're quick and can keep up. But I've never had one that had an advantage at any point in the race.
