    Dodge Magnum eats it

It was yesterday afternoon and I was on my way back home with a friend I had just picked up from the airport. We had just gotten on Rt. 32 when this blacked out Magnum gets on 32 and blasts past me on the right and gets in front of me. I accelerate (in 6th gear) to get behind him. As soon as I get close to his rear bumper, he floors it and gets about 5 cars ahead of me before I can down shift to 3rd. We happen to be at a point on 32 where it widens to 3 lanes for about a mile, so he jumps over to the far right lane (from the fast lane where I was too). I floor it in 3rd and quickly shift to 4th (by this time he is about 8 cars ahead of me). I start gaining on him halfway through 4th and blow past him doing about 120. The best part was that the Magnum driver was cussing his head off when we passed him, and that my friend gave him a friendly wave as we passed him. He also tried to do a racer flyby, but was forced to stop by a tractor trailer merging onto 32 (the highway had gone back to 2 lanes).

My car + two 6'+ occupants + 2 bags of luggage > Dodge Magnum R/T

Those Magnum/Charger RT drivers are funny. Most think there cars are really leagues faster than the Camaro/Firebirds. They'll be quick to run up on a F-body.
I remember I raced one in my '93 Z28 when I had nothing but a removed air box, 1LE elbow, cut-out and Flowmaster on the highway and pulled him by 2-3 cars. At 4000lbs.+ I imagine they feel alot quicker than they really are with 345hp though.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of those recently, especially at my work and I'd like to race one. Not really sure how fast the magnums and chargers are but I'd like to find out!

There nothing too special, low 14's for your average R/T. Definitely no match for an LS1.

Well I've got some bolt-ons so I'm not stock. Plus I'm about 600 or 700lbs lighter so I think it might be a good race.

Barely pulled on an SRT-8 Magnum last summer heading to the beach...also threw her back into 1st by accident (when pulling out after the guy) on a 2-3 shift...

Only had Magnaflow catback and K&N filter...

We used to own a 2006 R/T, my wife gave the ultimatum of keeping it or the 94 Z 28 Vert... We kept the Z 28... The charger rode real nice, and was a good highway car but the gas mileage was HORRIBLE and it was F$^%ing slow compared to the WS-6 and the Camaro

throw the new avenger drivers in there too. i know this one guy, who saw me one day and said "hey i thought you drive a camaro?" i said "i do" he looks over at my car and said "so, thats a camaro... looks alright, but do you think you have enough power to keep up with me?" i say "rated at 345hp, and thats stock." he walked away.

The Diablo tuner is pretty popular but with your bolt-ons and gears, you should have the edge vs. an SRT-8.
