they are close cars with the ls1 usually being a touch quicker. if you can keep up out of the hole you should win.

Drivers race. That so called chip (aka Hypertech more then likely) will probably hurt him instead of help him. Flowmasters don't master flow so just drive very very good.

Just Some FYI
I've raced and beaten 4 different Mach 1's on different occasions. I'm relatively stock, '99 a4 z28. I never got a chance to ask if they had mods. I have free ram air mod, de-baffled stock airbox lid, k and n drop in filter, no cats, and no muffler(exhaust dumped at rear axle).
This is a link to my most recent encounter.

Driver's race.
My money on the Mach 1 to be honest.

I think its up to who's the best driver from out of the hole. The entire "race" will be determined right there. If he jumps you out of the hole, I'm not sure you will pass him.
Of course, he already blew it up once so my bet's goona be on you to come out in front.

Drivers race, practice and get good at leaving at 2800-3000rpms, no bogging, nor roasting tires leaving at that rpm on street tires means your doing it right.

Torch Red- 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Hmm, sounds like he's not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. Kinda difficult to "blow up" a motor with a rev limiter on it, unless his chip raised it, or turned it off.
I'm just curious, is there anybody on this forum over the age of 25? Almost every post starts out with "There is this kid".2003 Torch Red Ford Mustang Mach 1 5-speed

Many engines have blown up with stock rev limiters, you dont need to be past the stock rev limit to have an engine failure. Just becasue ford says that if you keep the car below a certain rpm that it wont blow up doesnt mean its some magical number and your engine cant blow up unless you exceed it.

It's very rare, no, it's extremely unlikely that a stock, non-forced induction engine, is going to blow up just because it hits the rev limiter! That, after all, is the purpose of the rev limiter. That limit is usually set at a level well below where an engine's known catastrophic failure point will occur.

If he blew up his car the second week he had it, it is obvious he can't drive. You should beat him because he can't drive, other than that it will be close since you are stock....and if he drives right.

I never said becasue it hits the rev limiter, i said there are many reasons a stock engine can go that do not have to do with the rev limiter. It is rare that a stock engine will brake but it happens in all cars. Catastrpohic faliure doesnt have a point, it can happen at anytime if any 1 thing in your engine goes wrong.

Well unfortunately I am!!! LOL
Guess I wish I was young again, but then again I'm thankful for all the time I've been given so far to learn the lessons I have. I was once one of those "kids" who thought because my car was loud, it went fast.
Hey I see you have a Stang with similar rwhp as mine (539rwhp, 517rwtq) what kind of times you running with the 03?
