Camaro ss VS 06 GTO
so to get straight to the point... tonight i was driving with my buddy around 1AM and we ran each came across a cobolt ss and we kinda fucked with him but thats besides the point..
So my buddy with the 06 GTO wanted to run so i decided to run him for the first time since i bought my SS a little over a month ago... soo he told me he was at 3700RPMs and i have no idea where i was (2nd gear... i was so nervous) we did the whole 3 honks thing and ran on an empty bridge (about as safe as it gets on the street) and so long story short he had me by a fender going into 4th (which we both missed) not bad? let me know what you think i need to pull past him!
mods are in my signiture.. ohh and hes bone stock.. k&n filter..

so you went through 2nd gear and all the way through 3rd and as soon as you shifted into 4th you missed. Even if its the new turbo Cobalt SS at 260hp and with your catback lets say your at about 330-335hp a bit more then stock and those are not RWHP or FWHP numbers just under hood. You should still have him, maybe you were really nervous or he shifted a little better but thats street racing.

That's cool... Anybody else? What do u guys think? Should I have lost by more? Or should I have won?
What kind of mods are good for the money? For beginners so I can pull on my buddy?

In that order, I don't know I'd say that's about right, most will say an LS1 F-body vs. LS2 GTO is a drivers race, it's been my experience that the LS2 pulls harder up top, so I'll bet had you both caught 4th, he'd have pulled a little more. My problem is I've never raced a stock LS1 F-body,LOL.

although ive never raced a stock GTO with my stock LS1 i do think the GTO will have more top end power but i dont think it will pull 4 cars by 130mph either. There are soo many LS1 cars out there with anywere between 280rwhp to 330rwhp stock in some cases that its just hard to say. I think at 330-340 rwhp a LS1 should not have a problem pulling on a GTO since a GTO usually pulls about 340-350rwhp, i say this because its heavier. I have a vid were a stock T/A keeps up pretty good with a stock GTO, it still lost but not by much.

Sounds about the average experience, everyone says one beats the other so practice away.
