This is a possibility but probably not likely. If you don't have a windage tray or a crank scraper on the bottom end the crank will whip the oil into a froth, like a blender and a mixed drink. This allows the oil pump to cavitate allowing air to enter the oiling system. Most (I say most cuz I'm not sure of all of them) of todays modern high performance cars come with a windage tray to prevent this from occuring.

"Air in the oil" can also be a reference to poor crankcase ventilation - but it is still a lousy excuse, and highly unlikely the cause of anything.

Be careful with fox-body Mustangs though...at least around real racers....racing one of them is like opening a box of chocolates - you never know what's on the inside.

I had an 88....ordered it back in May of that year. Sold it in 2003. Not the dumbest thing I ever did, but sure wish I'd of kept it. When I took it off the street (actually last drove it in 1999), it was reasonably stout.

That only occurs in an engine where the crank actually sits down into the oil pan(which a 302 does), not up into the block like some engines(EXP.Mod engines).

There is a group of about four of them here and the fastest one is about a 13.5 1/4 and they actually all have a sticker on their car that says pro 5.0 boys. I havent met a 5.0 owner yet that wasnt as annoying as a hemroid.
