Bye bye little Cobalt SS
On my way home to visit family and friends last night and I was just about to get on 476 south at around 10:30 pm when a little blue Cobalt SS in front of me starts revving. That was enough for me
We lined up and went on his 3 honks from a 50 roll (I was in 2nd) and I pulled a car right off the bat, hit 3rd and the gap continued to grow and I ended up shutting it down at 110 with about 5 cars on him. The thing sounded mean as shit and I've never heard a Cobalt SS with that loud of a whining baby before. After the race the guy goes. "dude that things fast as shit." I asked him if he wanted to stop and talk but he said he was on his way to work. Cool guy, and the car seemed pretty fast actually. I think It woulda been closer if I didn't have Lt's and true duals.

didn't notice any, but he had the little gay mesh stuff in the rear bumper and shit if that is part of a "stage" package...? the car wasn't slow, and I think he was pretty surprised that he lost, which kinda leads me to believe he had some work done. But I don't know all that much about the "stage" kits they have for those cars

Stg twos run right around 13.7s at sea level so my guess is it was stg two seeing how you could hear the S/C wine, stock you cant hear the S/C at all. Good kill.

"GM currently offers dealer-installed performance upgrade packages called "stage kits" that are covered by factory warranty. The Stage 1 kit consists of new fuel injectors and a reprogram of the ECU, and yields up to a 30 bhp (22 kW) improvement. The Stage 2 kit consists of new fuel injectors and the same reprogram with a smaller serpentine belt and pulley for the supercharger, producing a 40 bhp (30 kW ) improvement and 30 ft·lbf (40 Nm) of torque. Both stage 1 and 2 kits increase the engine redline to 7000 rpm. The Stage 3 kit consists of a smaller, 76 mm (3 in) supercharger pulley, a 2-pass intercooler end plate and a customizable replacement ECU. The Stage 3 ECU allows for the use of a 50-shot of nitrous, 100 octane fuel and an adjustable redline from 6750 to 8000 rpm. Stage 3 produces 248 bhp using 93 octane fuel, up to 260 bhp using 100 octane fuel, and much higher bhp with nitrous. Stage 3 is for off-road use only, and to emphasize this, air conditioning is disabled with the Stage 3 ECU."

Thanks guys, and thanks for the GM rice package info Hutch haha. I dunno exactly what it was, again it was dark and I was pretty concentrated on the road ahead. If I had to guess I would say it were a stg 2 cause it was faster than I expected, but not like he even kept up though.
I know another dude that has a "stage 3" with cam and head work, and I think he's running a 75 shot. Swore up and down that it was a low 11 high 10 car, ran 13.2ish with him driving and someone told me (don't know how true this is) that he paid for a "professional" driver to run it in the 1/4, and still only ran a 12.5ish pass...Again, I don't know how true that is, but I DO know that he can't get it into the 12's haha!!!

They should have put turbos on those cars. The S/C from the factory option only works on 2 cars, and both of them are Fords.

I thought they changed to a turbo, like the Solstice GXP has. Nice. At least the Solstice (and the Saturn version) have RWD!

Yea, everything is going turbo now. It's more efficiant. Was thinkin of getting one as a daily "sometimes Civic killing" driver.
