...what are my chances as a nearly stock ls1 M6? My only power mods are an SLP lid I looked it up and it looks like these BMWs are puttin out 300 horse but are lighter than our cars. Im pretty sure Id kill him from a roll but goin from a dig kinda has me worried

I drove one. They are quick, but in stock form no match at all for a LS1. Don't worry at all.

When did they start twin turboing the BMW? The 06 330i is a mid to low 14 sec car. 0 to 60 in about 5.8. So a twin turbo has gotta be faster than that. Logic would dictate that that car would be hard to beat in a stock LS1 f-body. But who knows because I have never heard of a turbo BMW, unless aftermarket, and then you might be surprised. I could be wrong though. I dont keep up with cars I dont have any plans of buying.

Ok first off guys, a 330i BMW is not twin turbo, and were not made after 2006. The 2007-8 models are 328 and 335i. The new 335i is a twin turbo inline 6. A stock LS1 will pull them stock vs stock. The 335i is around the same weight as an LS1, if not heavier.

That sounds better. I still think it should have some serious power with a twin turbo set up. Are they making an M3 version?

The upcoming '08 (I guess) M3 will have a 400 hp V8.

Didnt even catch that. But I did drive the TT in stock form and wasn't overly impressed w/ the low end. Granted I never got it above 65 but it wasn't impressive till there. Perhaps it pulls hard on the top end but I doubt anymore than it would 0-60. Problem w/ those things is there is a program out for about 1200 bucks that will pump the boost up in the things and change around some other stuff and put about 75 horse and 100 torque to the wheels. So for about 1200 bucks you suddenly are in a mid to low 12 second car!

My experiance with BMWs is that they have most of their grunt up top. And being a turbo car I bet you will find the same, if not more so.

the 3600lbs curb weight... and 300hp at the crank... if it's Manual... it might keep up...if not... it's just pretty much crap... their Tq line is pretty good though, thanks to the small turbos with little lag...
