    Best Radar Detector/Jammer?

While I know the only way NOT to get a ticket is not to Speed....I have a hard time with that more often than I'd like to admit. So I aint sure if this is the best spot to post this, but I was wondering what you guys are using in terms of Radar Detectors and Jammers? Do any of them really work??

Radar Detectors are a complete waste of time because most cops use laser detectors. Try this for a site, they work amazing. http://www.valentine1.com/ A ton of guys that do the gumball 3000 and other races swear by these things. As far as jammers go Blinder M40, M20 & Lidatek Le30 Jammers are good ones as well. Key point is you pay for what you get. If you buy a $200 laser/radar detector chances are they are only going to work after its too late or close enough that if your going 130+ and it goes off, your still going to be screwed. My opinion still for laser detectors is the valentine1, they go off pretty far away. Just search the internet for articles on them and I remember reading somewere that they give you around 3000ft or something like that.

Ive always had a V1 and it is fantastic. There is a new BEL out that is suppose to "outperform it" however I dont know how much better than a V1 you can get! Its great.

Since I've always felt compelled to do a top speed run in just about every vehicle I've ever owned I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my crappy Cobra w/ a Bell 995 detector when I got my Formula. The Bell probably doesn't compare w/ the Valentine, but it's got at least twice the range of my Cobra, and it only cost $200.

Check out www.radartest.com ... should make for a great read.

If you really wanted to go top of the line, get a BEL STI, however it will cost you upwards of $400+ on ebay. The Valentine One has always been a solid performer, however for the cost, the Bel Vector 995 is an excellent alternative.

As far as JAMMERS go, one thing that I will caution you on is to not bother purchasing ANYTHING from Rocky Mountain Radar. The company changes it's name pretty frequently (because of their fraudulent business practices), however they market a passive radar and laser jammer. That is complete BS! I've owned one and have conducted my own tests and not on ONE occassion was it able to jam police radar (and we tried a number of different types....my buddy sells radar and installs them in police cars). I believe their two models were called the Phantom and the Phaser. Not worth $20.00, much less $250.00!!

I am getting ready to order the Valentine 1, those are awsome. My friend has one and they will pick up KA band from a long ways out, but there are pros and cons to all of them.

Ok, first off "RADAR jammers" are illegal so dont bother with those. Now I could go ooooooon and on with a huge write up about this but I won't..lol. Instead I will tell you the best set-up IMO and you can google the products and see why for your self.

    LASER jammer-Blinder M-40

    Laser stealth coating-Veil

Detector-Passport 9500i(Sooo many reasons why, google it)

Last but most importantly-COMMON SENSE...Even with the best products you can still get busted..

DO NOT E-BAY THIS STUFF...trust me, just don't buy this stuff off e-bay. I used www.radarbusters.com there is some info on this there too.

    The three big sellers:

Beltronics STi (completely stealth, excellent Ka)
Valentine 1 (Hey, it's got the arrows!)
Escort X50 (Best all-round performer, great features)

    Best unbiased testing:

I wish they just made a Cop detector, because Im always getting a CNI ticket for roasting my tires, right in front of a cop. Or, I will race someone and we fly right by a cop sitting a red light.

One thing I know about any radar detector Ive had in the past, is that they beep right when Im already getting nailed by the cop's radar. I hear it go off, and then see a cop turning around to ticket my ass.

But Ive always had the 150$ ones. Never tried anything expensive.

Well, I dunno if laser jammers will do me any good, the Popo around here still use radar guns as far as I've heard. I just have so many tickets doin stupid shit, even getting outa 1 or 2 tickets a year would really save my wallet =(

Without any laser countermeasures the only good a radar/laser detecor is going to do is let you know you getting a ticket. by the time you detector goes off the officer has your speed. Even though you say no cops use laser around where you live, a ton of states are starting to buy laser guns, I just use veil and I have the Bel Rx-65 Pro, going to get the 9500i soon. Last time I was home I got hit with laser doing 65 in a 45 but slowed down right when I saw the detector going off and did'nt get pulled over, I think the veil bought me the needed time to slow down.

For those who are worried about laser you should be buying the Laser Pro Park or the A8. These are the best laser jammers on the market right now and they work quite well.

one thing everyone needs to watch out for is, when the cop isnt shooting radar. so if your speeding and then the cop turns the radar on its to late and your busted.

That's why you need to be aware of your surroundings at all times. There something called "instant-on", and "POP" radar that only takes something like 67ms to get your speed then shuts off, so the radar is only on for a second or so for your detector to pick it up and only helps if your not the target. Even more dangerous is VASCAR. This is when the officer times you going form a set point A to a set point B and determines your speed that way, there is no radar or laser used so your detector will NOT alert to this. Be careful.

Thats what most of our cops out here use is VASCAR, I have never bought or used a radar detector, and still am yet to get a Ti$#it, I dont want to say the full word lol but I have been thinking it might be a good idea just for a heads up once in awhile so I would prolly end up getting one of the best ones you could buy...
