VW BEETLE W/ FLOWER- 88 CRX
i did, but its not really a fair race. i was on my CBR 954, and just toyed with him, let on and off the throttle while he was going threw 2nd and 3rd gear.
then waved bye and took off. was faster than i thought it would be though.

I kept up with one but I wasn't trying too hard and I don't think he was either. Both cars were roughly the same from roll racing.

go over to the tech kill stories or look it up on youtube plenty of race stories out there recently. a m6 ws6 with a lid and cutout raced an auto 5.0 and won by a half a car on the roll. from a dig the m6 just spun and the 5.0 walked away. full bolt on ls1 will beat out a stock 5.0 from what ive seen but start to mod the 5.0 and it starts to get bad.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
^ mind you these are brand new cars for a lot of people..so one the engines are no where near borken in or are the drivers comfortable. also worth noting..those awesome deep 12 runs are with the track package and such. a regular option 5.0 will be a 13 flat or lower car.

TRIPLE BLACK- 2000 CAMARO SS M6 #2100
I saw one in my DD Camry the other day. Seems that the only cars I see while in the SS are dumb ass Hondas lately

A 'friend of a friend' has one that's bone stock and thinks he can hang with my Z I might have to hand out a free education this time around. I'll try to get it on vid if it happens.

I will agree with you everyone needs time to adjust but some of the cars mentioned above already had 5k on them or more due to being rentals or dealer cars mind you not all broken in but damn close. And yes the 12.xxx cars probably did have 3.73's and good weather. Not to mention john ddoe who buys this car probably wont be modding it to the point enthusiasts due like headers tune full intake etc which is where the real power comes up. I'm not making excuses for the ls1 the 5.0 IS a stronger engine stock for stock but given bolt ons and vids as proof I say a bolt on ls1 edges out a STOCK 5.0.
i havent ran one yet but from what id seen id say
stock Auto 5.0 vs light bolt on LS1's are a drivers race
stock Auto 5.0 vs Full bolt on Tuned LS1's the LS1 will win by 2-3 cars
stock M6 5.0 vs Full bolt on Tuned LS1 will be a slight edge to the LS1 but a drivers race.

last time he was on a dynojet he made 345rwhp/355rwtq and has a best of an 8.5 in the 1/8th - shitty $80 street tires

i finally got to this weekend, I have a lid and a magnaflow cat back he had a intake of some kind i think it was a CAI and it was dead even 3 runs from 50 mph from a dig i spin and he would walk on me. nice car but I would not pay 40K for a new car that can only keep up with and old ls1 firebird
