My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
dude, you'll fucking kill him.
i have a M6 ws.6 and i blew away an 05 GTO M6 from a dig...i think he forgot to turn off his TCS though. Both were pretty much stock. you're literally gonna destroy him.

I saw this when I was home and then I got stationed up here in Delaware and Met/hang out with the GTO owner, he has a shop and = excellent deal on repairs/upgrades. He is going to try and break into the 12's with stock 05 GTO. His best is like a 13.1 in the 1/4. Haven't met the WS6 owner but I've seen him around base. I want to run the GTO but I know it wont be much of a contest.

I thought those GTO's came fast as vetts? maybe i was misinformed
so a TA should be able to get with a gto too? cuz a ws6 is only like 15-20 hp more then a TA right¿

Right, you'll have nothing to worry about, I've got a 98 Z-28 A4 and killed a M6 05 from a slow roll. They run strong but not strong enough, I don't know why either

could be, I test drove one and wasn't that impressed. The car just feels completely different than an f-body and it was heavy, you can definately feel that

Some bad info in this thread. Just lemme say, the LS2 hauls ass from a roll on, the IRS is a fucking bitch to launch tho. I learned first hand after losing to my buddy's wrx, but after walking him from a roll on by about 4 cars.
07' Trailblazer SS AWD 3SS - Imperial Blue
05' GTO - Midnight Blue Metallic
99' Trans Am WS.6 - Nighthawk Black Pearl w/ flames

wrong
My buddy has a 2000 ws-6 with a 3000 convertor, exhaust and a lid. He raced our buddies 05 GTO and the GTO beat him by almost 1 car. I was racing right next to them and no there wasn't tire smoke both on et streets and yes they both could shift. The GTO was a 6 speed and obviously the ws6 was auto. The GTO is a bad a** car. It is BONE stock and ran a 12.60 at BMP in Bradenton, FL. So that is a witnessed race, hell he even beat my bone stock firehawk!

You will kill the GTO! I have an 02 SS and raced an 05 GTO and beat him by a car. I'm pretty sure you will smoke the shit out of the GTO!

I went form an 01 ss A4 to a M6 05 GTO and while it's true that the GTO is a bitch to launch, the GTO would have beat the ever loving sh*% out of my SS from a roll.
There is a 4-way stop just down from where I live with a small bridge about a 1/4 mile away. From a stop I'd see how fast I could get my ss to by the time I hit bridge. In 4 years of ownership 103-105 was the best I could do. I've had my GTO for 5 months and it does 110-112 to the bridge.
Yes if you race a GTO from a dig you'd stand a better chance of winning, unless the GTO is auto or the driver is good. But from a roll, I'd have to see it to believe it.

To the original poster, yes, with those mods, you'll win. I agree with Doc, not good info on this thread. You guys must be encountering bad drivers in these GTO's. Stock LS2 6-speeds are mean. Look up ls1gto.com and look at the times of stock 6-speeds. There's one, for instance that goes by the name lord vador, who runs 12.8@109.87 with just drag radials-no mods. He removed the screen on the maf sensor and cut off the mufflers, but it did nothing for power, and he proved it. Sorry, but I've never seen stock f-body's trap ~110mph! The power is there, they just need a good driver. As far as automatics, there's too much torque management from the factory. With a basic tune, A4's are running 12's. There's a video of that 12.8@109.87 over at ls1gto.com in the multimedia section for the non believers.

Well I just raced him twice today.. The GTO is no joke, it is a fast fu**in car. First run I had a ton of wheel spin and had to play catch up. I caught up to him and we were side by side up to about 80 and I could not seem to pull on him any harder. Second race he had the wheel spin problem and I had a nice launch and jumped about 2 cars on him and just pulled away very slowly.. He is all stock and starting his mods next week. I cant wait to see what times he throws down.

GTOs are heavy so you'll have to get the jump to beat 'em just like you saw.
