LT1 had everything i have except he has TD's and weight reduction with stock gears. its a strong running car for sure, just doesnt have the top end and LS1 has, when he gets his 4.10s in we will run again

4.10 gears will keep it close in the begining of the race, closer then what it was in those vids but eventually the LS1 will pull again, top end power.

I had a kid bet me 50 bucks that he would pull my m6 2000 T/A in 3rd because his lt1 m6 z28 in 3rd pulls super hard. He also said my 3rd gear sucks and his new tune makes him pull super hard in 3rd. I laughed and said we have the same tranny and rear end gears what makes you think your 3rd gears pulls harder than mine. His reply its all in the tune. 4 races later he realized the exact opposite happens in 3rd aka i gained 5 cars by the time i shifted into 4th

On a LS1 M6 3rd gear to me is the best gear. If there is a car next to you through 1st and 2nd he is finished once you hit 3rd. On my LT1 not soo much even though its the same gearing its just the power and how its matched up with the gearing and the LS1 has plenty of power to pull very hard in 3rd. Im not sure what the guy meant by its in his tuning lol but if thats the best explanation he has then so be it. Since ive had 3 LT1's and 2 LS1's i can tell you that this race would be a bit closer on roll, meaning the same races they just did once he gets his 4.10's but only for a couple of seconds after that it will be about the same result. He will mostly benefit with good traction from 1st and 2nd gear with the 4.10's, other then that once the LS1 hits 3rd its done.
A few months ago when i had my LT1 i put it up against my LS1 both about equally modded with 4.10 gears going to the LT1 at the time i had stock gearing and it was alot closer 50MPH and above meaning initially but once i got higher in speed and rpms it was about the same result as to how quickly i pulled. I noticed the LT1 was about 1 1/2 cars faster at higher speeds but this was a few months ago cant remember it specifically. It did excellent keeping up on take off and we were dead even through 2nd to my suprise, i eventually got my other friend to drive it that was alot better at shifting, lol i think better then me.Last edited by karpetcm; 04-23-2009 at 07:58 AM.
