    98 T/A vs 06 Cobalt S.C. stage 2 & Stealth?

I have a 98 T/A vert LS1 with stock 2:73 gears Ram Air with direct filter kit and SLP Loudmouth exhaust. My first cousin just bought a new 06 Cobalt with the supercharger and stage 2 kit. He wants to race? I test drove it and it seems pretty fast, do I have a chance? Also my Dad has a 91 Twin Turbo Stealth with K&N, reprogrammed and Borla Exhaust, stock coolers and turbo's, do I have a chance with him? They both want to race me before I add my 3:73 gears and Hypertech programer, and eventually hook up my NO2 system.

    Thanks, Jeff

"This kit enhances engine performance to 245 hp (up from stock 205 hp). Includes high-flow injectors, supercharger pulley, new special length supercharger belt & specific performance engine calibration. Premium fuel required."

Thats what the stage 2 kit has. Basically have fun. 245 horses will be no match for your Trans Am.

o yeah and about the stealth: might have to watch out for him. Just watch this clip: http://www.dragtimes.com/1991-Dodge-...deos-7257.html

j/k you should beat him by at least 6-10 lengths

Well, we finally raced. I barely pulled on the Stealth R/T Twin Tubo, and pulled about 20 cars up to 120+ with the Cobalt SS Supercharged with the stage II kit. I also raced a 1997 BMW, not sure which model the guy said it had a 4.4 V8 M6. He did a bigger burn out and I pulled about 12 cars out of the hole and them about 20 to 100, then he seemed to stay with me upto 130+. Any way 3 out of 3 kills, in my first time racing. I was very happy!!

Sweet. now take that car down to the track and get your times and catch a few races.

My 3:73 gears are going in on Wednesday. They went to put them in two weeks ago, and found out that I had a stage II posi, and the gears I bought where for a Stage III. The new eaton system is in. I hope to be even quicker out of the hole.

    20+ cars!? HAHAHA

BS...tell you buddy to learn how to drive or stop telling stories.

    Nothing like exaggerating huh?

From 40-120 I put MAYBE 2 or 3 cars on my brothers stage 2 cobalt and my SS is not stock..in fact it has the SLP 400HP package.

I can assure you your friend does not have a stage 2 kit on his cobalt or else you never even raced him because there is NO WAY.

    and to this:

"This kit enhances engine performance to 245 hp (up from stock 205 hp). Includes high-flow injectors, supercharger pulley, new special length supercharger belt & specific performance engine calibration. Premium fuel required."
Maybe this would be accurate if the cobalt was putting down 205 stock Try 230+ WHP stock and then add the kit. Easily 255+WHP on a a car wieghing 800 lbs less than you with 4:05 gearing...your friend does not have a stage 2 kit. period
