97 cobra vs. 01 ss
i have a guy here up at my work thats constantly bragging about how fast his 97 m5 vert cobra is and how bad it would whoop my ss at any speed. so i decided to call him out yesterday at work and tell him to man up and race. of course letting his ego get the best of him he proudly said YES. we started out on i-35 south at about 60-65, i even gave him the jump and still EASILY walked right passed him to about 120-130 or so and im guessing i was about 6-8 lengths ahead of him. well we both take the hwy 9 west exit and hit a red light right off the highway. of course he has a huge grin and is telling me that stop lights are where he does best. anyways we get the green light and i waste no time and punch it (with traction control on) and immediatly im 2-3 cars ahead of him and still pulling REDICULOUSLY hard on him. i shut it down at about 100 and i was about 520000000 bus lengths ahead of him. needless to say i killed him and i thought he would shut his mouth now about being faster but NOOOO. I come back to work today and he is throwing every single excuse at me in the book from a mis shift to no traction. Maybe he will learn one of these days oh well i still know which car is better.
sorry for the novel just thought i would share a good kill

VW BEETLE W/ FLOWER- 88 CRX
psh it was to hot for his turbo
his vtec didnt kick in
your an auto so you have no skill
he would beat you at the track when he can actually put that 218905423 HP to the ground on street tires
your gay cause you own a camaro
you have a lot more money in your car than his
your HID'S are what gave you the edge
he misshifted
you put soap on his tires, you cheater
you gutted your car before the races giving you a weight advantage
it was to cold and he had his summer tune still
he had his BF was trying to give him and it was distracting him
....im out of excuses now.

When I had my 99 and 01 Cobras I had F-bodies on me like flies to crap and I hung with them. A 330 rwhp SAE F-Body is a myth. Then when I got the 2003 Cobra I rarely run into one but I usually measured my GM butt whoopins by aircraft carrier lengths.
My 2010 GT500 with the 2.8 KB Stg 3 would suck the paint off my 2003.

In that guys defense his new GT500 should be able to beat a bolt on Fbody just look at how much they cost. Now slap a procharger and a couple bolt ons on a fbody and then you have a race car and you can save a lot over a 2010 GT500. I could afford a nice used supercharged Cobra but what is the fun if you buy it a fast car instead of building a fast car. I loved my modded Fox 5.0's I had before my fbody case I built them all. I still have my 93 LX 5.0 Vert for a dd/ cruiser.

Hard to beat the sound a 302 Ford with flows and a cam... they almost sound majestic.
But that's where I draw the line.
Not to re-hash anything, but I saw Preston slam him with an infraction(s) for his downright rude and vulgar replies in another kill thread on this forum. Hopefully he's here to discuss a friendly rivalry and not to be a troll. We should all give him the benefit of the doubt before we make the call
