    hey now that i have put my stroker in my t/a its a real bad daily driver. i want a srt-4 and plan on spending 15-20k what do you suggest? 05? or 03+mods? tell me what to look out for. thanks in advance!

    You can find 04s for 12-15K all day long. Dont get an 03 as they dont come with LSD. You can find stock 05s for about 15k or so. An 05 with the same mods i had went for 18.5 on ebay the other day. I would buy a slighly modded 04/05 if i were you. YOu can find them for about 13k and up. Most of the srt-4s i see dont have alot of miles on them. the most ive seen was about 55000.

    I dunno, they definitely have potential. I remember about a year ago or so when I didn't know much about LS1's. Watched a video of I think a 04 against an 01 or 02 WS6. From like a 20mph roll the SRT just kept on pulling, about 7 car lengths or so to 100. I have no idea what was done, but after I saw that I was like WOW do srt's beat LS1's that badly? Obviously now I know different, but that srt4 WHOOPED the SHIT outta that trans am.

    mine doesnt have too many mods to it. i race my buddy in his 02 WS6 all the time and pull him by about 3 cars everytime we go from a roll. But he is stock. You do have to be heavily modded to pull one by 7+

    to put 7+ cars on a ls1 by 120 he'd have to have like 30+ psi,lol

    Not necesarily. I was pushing 24psi and now im pushing 19psi and im alot stronger because of the efficiency(sp)

    Buddy has a built 383 in an f-body with a .88mm turbo and runs 9.80s@146ish with full interior, a/c, radio, on 26lbs

    Just as an example I bought a 2004 SRT-4 Stage 3 with all the supporting mods I paid 17100

    I just picked up the car last week so I have not run it on 100 octane yet but on 93 octane I can tell it would pull away from my 2005 GTO which has made 364 rwhp on a dynojet dyno. These are very fun cars but most of time they get a bad rap for being a Neon. Next up for mods will be head work and pnp turbo and manifold in hopes to get the car close to 400 whp on 93 octane. After that maybe cams but still undecided on that.

    Could you say . Without some serious work the LS1 could not handle that kind of boost but if it could it would be sick as hell.

    I spun a rod bearing in my LS1 with only 8psi. My fault though; oil starvation. Forging is now in the works. Stock LS1 is only safe to single digit boost levels from what I've seen. Of course that will get you over 500 RWHP easy.

    Love my SRT as a DD and I have spanked many a RWD v8, but FWD is teh suck...

    Depending on what company you go with, new or used, FPR or Return Line and so forth, you're looking at $800-$1300 for 300whp. Most use race gas to achieve that, as I understand. So that might be considered cheating. But for a little more money, it'd be 300whp on 91 octane piss gas.

    Keep in mind if you do run them from a roll, they are only 2950lbs or around there and they have great torque due to the small turbo so watch out from roll-on!
    We drive LS1's. We fear no roll races, especially not from turbo 4 bangers.

    Weight matters much less from a roll than it does in a 1/4 mile, its all about raw top end horsepower and aerodynamics.
