Stone is right on the money about that guys mods. Race from a dig though for a real advantage on an SRT. FWD is tough to hook up with and it doesn't get any better as you add mods and bring up the power.

For me, the SRT-4 is my beater car. Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and leave it stock though. I've surprised my share of V8s including a GTO that I took from a low roll. I have an extra advantage here of altitude though. Stock LS1 fbodies only run high 13s/low 14s which is pretty good match for a stock SRT-4.

I've seen the properly modded stage 3 ones run consistent 12s - on slicks or DRs and in their high octane mode. They're wheel-hoppity as anything FWD outta the hole - but once the driver gets the mechanics of it down, they're pretty quick from a dig.

Now the stage 1 units...I think Mopar started adding that stage 1 package as the "factory configuration" in their last production year (05?). So instead of claiming 215hp - they claimed 230. I have seen these, bone stock, on the dyno make 220/230whp pulls. They're WAY underrated from the factory. Stage 1 should only be good for a high 13 / low 14 depending on driver and altitude.

This is a video of my neighbors on the expressway. It's an 03 - Only Stage 2 in this video, stock rubber, pump gas.

    http://media.putfile.com/SRT4---Stag...xpressway-Pull

I've got a vid of this thing going 12.8 around here somewhere too..(after stg 3, 102 octane, and some nice M/Ts on the front.

Mine is an 05. The 05s came with stage 1 injectors. No computer. I put a Stage 2 WGA on mine and it through a code. Im a pretty good driver i think. I got a 13.79@101 outa mine stock. 2K later i got 2 tenths better and 4 mph!!! That kinda bursted my bubble but i knew i had a really good stock time.

Did the race take place yet???

He would have to dump about 4K into it to get it into the 11s. Bigger turbo, fuel system, etc. And tune it and such. So i would say if you do the nitrious setup you should have no problem. But i doubt you will need it. Im about to be a "fully bolted" stock turbo Srt-4 and that will get me somewhere in the mid 12 sec range trapping around 115ish.

My friends stockish 03(which only had 215 till 04) dynoed 247 at the wheels with 17 psi. all it had at that point was a CAI.

That is pretty damn impressive for a bolt-on FWD four-banger!

As long as my SRT-4 can still pull on Mustang Gt's I'm happy! I think it would take a stage 2 and exhaust plus a good driver to equal a properly driven LS1 6 speed. I know mine isn't nearly as fast as my Z28 was but it also isn't buslengths behind it either. As for the fellow ripping the shifter knob off, it is stupid that they made them that way but if he used good shifting technique it wouldn't be a problem. Most of the people I hear about ripping the shifter off are teenagers who haven't driven a stick before and send the knob flying into the back seat.

Just push down when shifting. And dont wear a ring cause you will cut the hell outa your finger. Short throw also eliminates it!!lolol

I know this is a old thread but SRT-4 kid finally came back home from Nashvile auto and diesel school to visit his woman. Me and all my buddies are sittin at McDonalds parkin lot just shootin the shit and SRT kid rolls up He get out and starts talkin to everyone. So i go over and start talkin to him and he asked me if i would take him for a ride. I take hime for a ride, 0-130mph as hard as my car would go. We go back to the parking lot and all our buddies are trying to get us to race. I'm all for it, but hes like naw not tonight im not ready. I even tell him if he dosnt want to mess his car up we can run 30-130 but he still dosent want to run them. Idont know whats up a week ago he was all about "killin V8s" now he dosnt wanna play anymore LOL

there very impressive cars...for the money...i mean if u want a car to get into the 12's for cheap as hell....there the way to go...but it pretty much ends there... to get into the 11's after that u can have a ls1 deep into 10's

It takes about $4000 to get into teh 11s with our cars. Easiest way is to get a bigger turbo. There are a few into the 11s with stock turbos. But they have upgraded half shalfs and they are fully bolted(bout $3000 worth of shit) and are pulling 1.6-1.7 60ft) i have more than 4k dumped into my car but half of that is rims, etc
