2006 Gt

So one of the guys I work with is a die hard mustang fan....thinks they are the fastest things ever, and God himself had a hand in creating them. The fact that I simply own a Camaro pisses him off....but he didn't even own a Mustang until yesterday. He got his 06 GT, and thought he was badass....and offered to race me. I know his type, talks a lot, and actually thinks what he says is true, so I said sure, but lets make it interesting. I told him I've killed so many GT's (I haven't) that I don't even like to race them anymore, which pissed him off just as I was hoping for. Told him 500$ and I know this quarter mile stretch of road we can go to. He bit, so I had a friend of mine hold our money.

So long story short, we raced from a dig and I put two car lengths on him immediately. Since he just got it not 24 hours previous, I knew he didn't know how to drive it at all. Just to be nice and make sure no hard feelings at work, I offered to give him another shot....same story. He did a little better, but still lost miserably. Now I'm debating on if I should embarass him at work, or leave it. Regardless, I immediately spent that 500$ on some sorely needed tools for my car.

Oh yeah, I have a bone stock 2002 Camaro SS convertible, his just had an exhaust I believe, but not sure. Sounds too loud for stock.

go ahead and brag haha. I had someone who thought there mustang could beat me just because it was a stick. (it was a v6 btw, stock)

I didn't talk trash, but I did show two of the videos on youtube of the Ford GT getting killed by a camaro and a z06. I figured that would be a subtle way of rubbing it in his face without calling him out.

no i would definetely brag about it. if he is the type that likes to talk shit and pass it off as truth, then he deserves embarassement. now if he casually asked you to run em for fun or even money, then i would keep quiet and be respectful. if he dogs on your car and you beat him, then he gets it fair and square. turn about is fair play IMO.

Good kill! The Mustang lovers think they are better than what the are. I was so disappointed in the ones I drove. The 03/04 Mach1 is better then the new GT's. It would be neat if they did a new Mach 1 that had some balls and N/A.

I drove an '04 Mach 1, and overall I was impressed with the car. The clutch had great feel, shifter was okay, and the motor was smooth as anything. It felt powerful, but no comparison on the low-end to an LS1. Couldn't pound any shifts off at the 7K redline, because I was riding with the salesman. I'm sure its quick though.

I believe they are planning on making Mach 1 or Boss 302 based on the new S197 Mustang, should be pretty cool if they do.

+1 on the machs. they are bitch. only thing that the blue oval has aside from the terminator that has a sack. pretty decent looking too.
