200 year old oak tree vs 01 ws6
This happened a while ago. My senior year in high school, hauling at about 150 on I-64 about 50 miles west of Richmond i passed a cop running radar. Needless to say i took the next off ramp, lost control and hit a Oak tree at around 120. Somehow i managed to survive, but shattered my left knee, broke my right arm, broke my nose, cracked 3 and broke 2 ribs, massive concussion, and of course totaled my car. well the trooper decided not to try to chase me as he would of had to do 150 + to catch up so he never even pulled out. since it was late at night and not a lot of traffic it was about 30 minutes before anyone even found me. by the time they finished cutting me from the car i was rushed into a Medevac chopper and taken to the VCU medical center. After about a week i regained consciousness, 4 more weeks of recovery and i was out.
My parents had donated the car to my high school for the prom drink and drive car, i wasn't drinking, but everyone there knew the car. Prom, which was about 3 months later was the first time i had seen the car. everything on the car was destroyed except the "trans am" logo between the taillights.
i now have a titanium knee, about 20 pins in my leg and arm, about 70k worth of hospital bills, and lost a football scholarship to VA Tech.

he came and visited me in the hospital when i was coherent, its a small town... not a lot to do, he said he wasn't going to write me up for it since he figured i learned my lesson. he said i should slow down though, and went on to say he clocked me at 147 in a 65. which i think adds up to about 2 or 3 years in jail. so hes a pretty cool guy.

Im sorry to hear that good thing you are still alive. I can speak from experience that accidents suck. Just thank God your okay I know it sucks that you totalled your car but hopefully you will get a same or better car. I had totalled my car to and ended up getting it back and fixing it. Best of luck.

i have a couple of regular pics of it... but nothing digital, and no scanner. i saw a pic of it in front of the school prom night on wreckedexotics.com. the caption said the driver died, but i guarantee i didnt. i didnt upload it, but i guess someone at the school saw it and threw it on there. the license plate is V8MUSLE and isnt blurred out in the pic. ill try to find a link, but its been a while since i saw it.

I'm sad for the loss of a Trans Am. and hope you recover well. I wrecked a car when i was 17 doing about 50 mph, just stupidity and in experience.
A good rule is, you start with a Lot of luck and No experience, hopefully you've got enough experience before your luck runs out.

That sucks, glad to see you're still around to talk about it. I stayed with slow ricers as long as I was in-experienced, had a few accidents. Then I got a turbo-charged Mazda RX7 when I was 20-21, got some rear-wheel drive experience with that, learned how to drift etc, then got my Z28 at 22.
