Cruising down PCH with my buddy in the car, I decided to come home via the freeway.
In my rearview, lights are coming up super fast then go by in the 3rd lane, I was doing about 65-70:
    http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=116496

He slows down near next to me, looks like a guy in 40's, then stomps on it without giving warning, but I did as well.

Even with a buddy in the car, it felt pretty nice to put 3+ cars on him before easing off the accelerator.

It's local fun like this I live for!
    Thanks for reading, Castle.

The only differences between the standard GT and the Shelby GT is the intake, rearend gears, Shelby dashboard plaque, and body work. The car makes maybe 10hp more or some shit. The auto mags were making fun of it for costing a lot more. Not looking at exact stats here, just random things I remember about it. For less money a guy could take a standard GT and put a S/C on it and have a lot more fun.

I wonder if Shelby feels like he sold his soul to Ford?

I purposely left the link with the stats as neither had I:
    http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=116496

It has about 20-25 more horses than a new GT.

Oh I came in thinkin it was the big bad GT500...
Wow, they put Shelby's name on everything.
Next thing you'll see is a Shelby SVT GT700 Mach8 Cobra Super Coop LE.

Dodge & Chrysler are putting "SRT" on everything they can.

Pontiac is still sitting on their hands about what Muscle car they wanna bring back from the dead...

& here comes another Camaro that'll be nipping at the Corvette's heels.

    ...Sorry, had alotta sugar 2day.

Yep. It's a shame. The Shelby GT is just an overpriced basic GT with a few boltons. I classify it along with Saleen, Roush, etc. I suppose the only advantage over buying a GT and the boltons would be the warranty and the exclusivity of having it numbered as a Shelby.

The sad thing, for me, is that these poor people buy the Shelby GT and think the "Shelby" letters make the car fast.

    To each his own.

I wouldn't throw in Roush stage 3 (435 HP) or Saleen SC (465 HP) with the Shelby GT, I believe those are different horses. There are other Roush and Saleens with more HP.

That is a good point well taken.
