05gt vs ls2 gto
I have a question about racing a 05 gt bone stock. I dont have a ls2 gto but i'll rent one if i have too.
There is this guy at my job with a bone stock 05 gt and he is always saying he runs the ls2 gto all the time. I know i wil run him into the ground with my ls1 (moded) He wont run me in the t/a.
I asked him if the gto was realy trying or just playing with him. He says i guess he was racing.
Now before i go rent a gto i wanted to ask if anyone had seen or ran a 05 gt in a stock ls2 gto.
I call b/s on this guy and im about to call his bluff.

let me tell you this.. i went to track last saturday and one of my buddy had brand new LS2 GTO SOM. and he ran 3 times and couldnt dig into 13s. and and at the end he ran 13.8 and that was his best... they got 400hp but u gotta be good driver to get them mid-low 13s. and i did 13.6 with my bone stock stang GT at 2500 ft evolution!
LS2 GTO vs new stang GTs is drivers race. IMO. well i beat him at track.. i hope this helps.
they are very good cars.. but for some reasion, everybody cant drive them!!

well I just took my 2006 GTO to the track, knocked down a 13.87@104mph, 2.19 60' and this is at 5800ft. elevation corrected is like 12.97, you have to soft pedal it out of the hole, once you get around 3500rpms, then drive it as hard as you can, and when I say soft pedal it, I don't mean baby it, but just don't quite floor it and DO NOT dump the clutch. If you rent one practice a few times, then call him.

From my experience. At the track I smoked a stock one right out of the hole. He stayed behind me till the end. But from a roll...is a different story. From a roll the goat will tear hiss ass up.

I have yet to race one from a stop, but I have on the 405 freeway. The we went 2 times each time from between 60 and 70mph. The first time I went to 3rd. Pulled several cars. The second time I went to 4th. He stayed next to me for a second, then I started pulling. That is the extent of my experience with that car.

i have driven both. the mustang was an auto and the goat was a m6. i as far as my experience-the gto is faster

Thanks everyone for the info. My pick is for the gto. I love that car. I sat in a few of them at a dealer and i like it ALOT.
This guy also says the gt engine is also made by mazda. True or false.
I can understand hes pro ford but he talks like he built every car made and can beat them all.

I RACED an ls2 gto from a roll a couple times....i walked him but he was pretty fast.....and then he said it was stock.......I THINK THAT WAS A LIE CUZ HE WAS DUMPING THE CLUTCH WITH MINIMAL TIRE SPIN....HE AT LEAT HAS TIRES

race him from a roll you will completely destroy him, i would just say fuck you to him and dont bother renting a GTO he'll find out whats up when he actually races one
