If you've got a modded LS1/LT1 you will probably take him, don't bother if you're not pushing mid 400's or above to the wheels.

Those things are some sick expressway machines. Don't let the weight fool ya - they still got plenty of pedal past 100. Autobahn monsters...
Dunno how many ponies the LS would need to best one. I've made the mistake of trying to jump an M5 on the e-way before....similar configured car - but same result as me barking up an E55 Those big german engines and gearing just scooot on the interstate.

Interesting. I will have to add anything with AMG on the bumper to my list.
Those Germans are always pushing the envelope with factory performance.Heads 'n Cammed, Moser 12, 3.73's, Weight Reduction, 13" Brembo Kit
BMR track suspension, full exhaust, the works...
412whp/394wtq 1/4 mile slip coming soon!

Id say youre going to need to be full bolt on at least to take one out. I was at the track and one was running 117mph. I raced one a couple months ago from a 35 roll and only had him by a car up to about 110 and he shut down. I was not really pulling him up top. I have almost 380awhp and Im lighter than Fbody so do the math!

I think it might be closer than you think, there was a video on this site I think with the Z06 and the M6. The M6 was left behind, it wasnt an embarassment but he lost.

My dad has an 2005 S55 (4 door) Supercharged 495rwhp stock.
I have a 96 LT1 383 Storker fully forged Vortech T-Trim blower (10psi) with A LOT of mods.
I can get it from a dig. Dont mess with one from a roll. It will pull down u r pants and give u a spankin infront of everyone.

I don't know about you s2knky but for the money I would rather have the new ZO6 the get the M6. Sure it may have 500hp but a ZO6 will just smoke the crap out of it. Another German marvel eating yankee dust.

in bang for the buck, there's definitely no touching the Z06. Everyone calling their "maro's and "bird's an "M6" ...yes, it's a manual 6. Not an M6. Maybe a 6M.
I'm a big fan of what GM did in building the new Z06. It's a monstrous motor, awesome handling package, and schoold just about anything they put up against it for 1/2 or 1/4 the price most of the time.
BMWs are overpriced, and maintenance hogs. They build a nice enough car, but not my cup'o'tea. The M6, is a beast though. Major performance, and major comfort.

You guys are crazy if you think a bolt-on only LS anything short of LS7 is going to take out an E55. Those cars run deep into the 12's stock. And from a dig, you have no hope. They are all automatics with the most sophisticated traction control on the planet. They just explode out of the hole.
Here is one bone stock running 12.4
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...aafe4121f7.htm
Another running 12.07@ 116

The big body Benz's are not to be taken lightly. The 65 AMG's run deep into the 11's stock.

Stupid comparisons. Does anyone here care to guess what an M6 or an E55 will set you back? Duh.

I'd like to drive it, but I would rather drop 80K in my Z, and blow the fucking doors off every German car I see.

And then you'd have to contend with the Koenigseggs and Bugattis of the world....because you see those out on the freeway every day ya know. :eyeroll:
