    Members helping members

This seemed the most appropriate place to post this...

There have to be some stories out there about members helping members -- people that may have never known one another but for their shared interest in this site. My first experience was last fall, when I installed the catback on our Trans Am. Zapper2003 spent several hours in my garage assisting with the install. It certainly would have been difficult to do without the extra hands and I really appreciated his help.

This evening, another member dropped off his Corvette at my house. Tomorrow evening we are going to start the process of swapping out his rear main seal and probably checking over a few other things in the process. I just think it is cool when I see members getting together to work on their cars, or helping one another out with parts and advice. Just thought I would share.

I have helped only one member on here who only seems to come back when the British babes thread is updated
Met him on here and the first thing he wanted to do was go on a cruise, and I accused him of being a cop At any rate he has put up with me and I have helped him out with the intake and a fuel pump. I am sure he would appreciate more if the car ever got tuned properly.

That is so awesome. It's incredible what this electronic age has done. I've met a few people from this site that I ended up cruising Woodward with. Other members I really wish I could meet but unfortunately I haven't yet, or they are just way too far away...

    Regardless, cool story Jeff!

That's what this addicition of cars is all about.

That's how things are up here in Alaska. The LSX guys are a really close group and we all help each other out. If one person needs help there will be almost 10 people offering to help.

Suggestion: If you are particularly irritated by another member's posting habits and are constantly fighting the urge to flame them, you can click on that person's profile, and select "Add to ignore list." This will make that person's posts invisible to you.

We actually have 5 months of summer to drive and race our cars. But the freight kills us on ordering our parts. That's why we help each other out so much.

    ^^ I take that as a raincheck.

Another one I just thought of -- a member was looking for a pair of replacement wheels and sent me a picture of what he needed. I searched all over Spring Carlisle, but only found one set. Unfortunately, the seller wanted a bit too much $$ for them considering the condition. We exchanged texts and a few phone calls. Even though the mission failed, it was cool trying to help him out.

Have to admit......the member he is helping is me.

Jeff is a great guy, has every tool you can imagine, and is pretty good at figuring things out. Thus far the Corvette has been a learning experience to say the least. Other than a few things that have taken 10 times longer than normal the process has been pretty good. Only one broken bolt and it was the very first one we tried on the exhaust.....lol

Hope that we are able to get the tranny back in and everything set up so we can take her for a test ride tonight if the weather clears up.

However the car has a new nickname........."CS2".
