Can't edit a FS thread that is not old

    Seriously, this really annoying.

I don't man to be a jerk, but I was locked out of editing my forsale thread over a week ago.... AND IT'S LESS THAN 2 MONTHS OLD!!!! Why can't I edit the original post? I have it posted on 5 other VB forums and can edit them all at will. It's not unreasonable for a 19K car to not sell in a month flat, but after that you are out of luck if you want to change the ad...

The reason for that is, the seller could change their ad after selling.

Then the buyer can't prove what was advertised. It used to be shorter, but I tried to find a compromise.

It's not just troublesome there, and it's shorter than a month...

I made 2 sale/promotional threads for mail order tuning that ran only two weeks. At the end, I wanted to edit the first post to say "thanks, sale is over" and couldn't edit them. People continued to post in them even though it was over so I reported them to get them locked (they are still open too) since it was over.

Really I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it is a PITA. I know that a mod will probably edit a thread for me if I had to have it, I just have never run into it before. What is the exact amount of time that passes before we lose edit ability?

Let me check on the time.

I'll also see if I can configure it so vendors can close their own sales threads when its over.

Its was set to 12 days. I was sure I had it longer.

Also the Sponsor section is set so you can close your own threads. Can you test??

it was from 3-27 so just longer than a month by a day... I had one in the PCM section too. I know that you will handle that section differently, just mentioning it.

Its a global setting which is the issue. I can't set the time by section.
