Here's another. I hear ya on the sound system it's crap. I just replaced the stock 4 speakers but I think a head unit and amps are in order it's still not loud enough with the top down.

nah, i shouldnt complain about the 4 speaker monsoon too much... compared to most factory systems ive heard, its not bad at all... i'm just used to true premium systems, like the pioneer 7 speaker factory setup in my cobalt with a 10" in the trunk that was something like a $160 option.

to be honest, i'm used to driving cars that need enhanced audio equipment to be enjoyable... when i was still looking at my trans am on the lot before buying, i looked in the trunk and thought "this would be perfect for 2 12s" but i noticed lately that i usually drive around with the stereo off, enjoying the sound of my engine... maybe i should start the modding with a catback, eh? haha... i really had my heart set on a cutout, but im not sure how much it matters that they're illegal 'round these parts.

if cobalts were as cool as novas they wouldnt need systems i had an 88 suburban with only 3 1/2 inch dash speakers for a while... after about 3 weeks i threw a system into that one too... now i have an 86 suburban that i just decided to sell after finding/falling in love with my un-planned trans am, but thats another thread entirely... know anybody thats interested? heh
