convertible top
My top won't go up like it should. I looked at what I think is the pump or motor. I can see alot of air in the lines, I need help !!

Black- 1998 Trans Am WS6 'Vert
If you can see air in the lines, you are low on fluid due to a leak. A temporary fix is to top it off with fluid (between the two horz lines on the transparent pump resevoir...... GM now recommends mineral oil....... found in the pharmacy under "laxitaves" LOL). After topping off, cycle the top once or twice to purge the air, then top off the fluid level again.
A longer term fix would be to find and repair the leak. Mine's leaking too, I suspect it's the O-ring between the plastic resevoir and pump, but mine hasn't gotten bad enough yet to take apart. I'm not sure if the O-ring is available by itself, or if you have to replace the whole pump assembly (haven't gone there / done that yet).
