FS: Turbo LS6 Formula, 630rwhp/1050rwtq
Here's everything I can think of:
I bought this car from the original owner about a year and a half ago. When I got it, it only had 47k miles on it, and was completely stock down to the factory air lid. I left it stock up until about 6 months ago.
Current mileage: 61k original
Vehicle is located in Louisville, Ky and available for inspection anytime.
Engine:
2003 LS6/Z06 shortblock (9k miles originally), lowered to 9:1 compression, engine rebuilt and prepped for turbo using stock parts by Dale Voyles of Launch1MotorWorks (he has built countless 1000HP turbo LSx engines), factory coated LS6 pistons, crank, rods, etc, upgraded to ARP rod bolts, block square decked, line honed, crank polished and oil holes champhered, new timing chain, ported and shimmed LS6 oil pump, cylinders race-honed, assembly balanced, plasma moly file-fit rings, gapped to turbo specs, custom Comp Cams 234/238 @ .050 .595/609 Lift, 114 Lobe Sep.
Heads are factory LS1 castings that have been fully hand ported, 5 angle valve job using stock valves, surface milled, double springs, titanium retainers, Titan copper o-ringed head gaskets, stock head bolts, and one piece chrome-moly pushrods.
Edelbrock EFI Intake, fully hand polished to mirror finish
Aluminum intake elbow (from IntakeElbows.com) with Stock TB,
Edelbrock fuel rails,
Chevrolet Bowtie Cast Aluminum Valve Covers
Mototron 60lb injectors,
Aeromotive 1:1 billet Adj FP Regulator
Dual In-Tank Walbro 340 Fuel Pumps
Pumps Hotwired w/Casper FP Booster
Casper Volt Booster
NEW RPM Stage IV Transmission by Rodney, fully built
TCI SS3500 converter
B&M Trans Cooler
Factory Rear End with 3.23 gears
New Centerline Tel-Star Wheels, 15x8 & 15x4 with new MT radials up front and MT Drags on the back (275/50/15's) Just paid $1600 for wheels and tires one month ago.
Battery Relocated to Spare Tire compartment
New rear shocks
New hood shocks
New Driver side power window motor
New Urethane Sway Bar bushings, front and rear
All windows tinted, including windshield
Car has All Options; T-Tops, Leather, Monsoon, Power Everything, and everything works as it should. Even the power antenna.
Rare Chameleon Blue/Green color, Only 124 ever built in 1998
One of a kind completely custom rear mounted turbo kit. This kit turns more heads than you can imagine. Plus, the sound is INCREDIBLE.
Turbo is a GT45 (capable of 800fwhp), so it's just about max'd out now.
Twin 38mm wastegates
Front Mount Intercooler
Boost Gauge
Manual In-Car Boost Controller
New In-Car AEM Wideband O2 Sensor
At 14lbs of boost, this car made 630rwhp/1050rwtq on a DynoJet. At the same boost, on a Mustang Dyno, it made 589rwhp/905rwtq.
*Less than 1000 miles on engine
**Less than 300 miles on Transmission and converter
***Less than 200 miles on turbo kit
What it needs:
Could use brakes, the rotors are factory and pads are worn. A/C needs charging (works but doesn't get real cold). The windshield has a small crack in it outside of the drivers view (it's been that way since I bought the car and it has never gotten any worse). And one of the rear Monsoon subs is blown.
Extra's:
Also have a Lingenfelter 3.5" HD Aluminum Driveshaft that goes with the car. I bought it used, but haven't ever installed it. It has the 3150 u-joint already on it for a 12-Bolt.
Fiberglass Suncoast Creations WS9 Ram-Air Hood (does not have the optional heat extractors at the rear, but Ram Air vents are functional). I just had this hood painted and installed within the last week. To be completely honest, it doesn't match 100%, but most people would never notice since the paint does change colors.
Trans Am Hatch with wing, which I had painted and installed at the same time as the hood.
*I plan to get some new pics with the hood and hatch installed later today (weather permitting).
Dragstrip:
I have only raced it once, and it was 1/8 mile. Severely traction limited 7.35 @ 104 on a 1.91 60ft. IMHO, the car has easy 6.50's in it with slicks and a rear end. (Low 10's, high 9's @ 135+ capable 1/4 mile) *I do have the videos of these passes, but don't have anyway to upload them.
This car is 100% STREETCAR. It still gets over 25mpg on the highway, and about 18mpg in town. Runs on pump gas at low boost, and Turbo Blue 110 octane with 14lbs of boost and the race tune. It has been tuned to absolute perfection and is capable of driving ANYWHERE. There has been no weight reduction done to the car, other than the front bumper support (which was replaced by the huge FMIC).
This car RIPS!
Total Dollars in MODS ALONE: Over $16,000
Price: $17,900.
Why am I selling it?
Two reasons:
1. I can't really afford it any longer.
2. I'm burnt out and stepping away from the car thing for a while.
**If you buy this car, I will also throw in some extra parts. I have a set of bare, but fully CNC ported LS1 heads. And a comp 218 cam. I had thought about changing over to these heads and cam to pick up a little power, as well as make it a little more "sleeper". The cam in it now absolutely POUNDS. The more I hear it, the more I like it, so I left it.
FWIW, It's KILLING ME to sell this. Thought I'd throw it up here first before I put it on Ebay this weekend.
Please email me if interested at: UPSSales@aol.com
Thanks!

Update!
I've gotten trade offers of literally everything from Corvette's, to a street rod project, to a riding lawn mower. No kidding!
So, what the hell? Guess I'll entertain trade offers as well. I'd only be open to trades of equal or lesser value than my car.
If you have something, please email me a description, pics (if u have them), and your estimated value of your car. Send this info to me direct at: UPSSales@aol.com
Thanks again!

Thanks!
badss96 - I really like your C5, but I think I like my Formula better (no offense!) As I mention farther down in this post, I think I'll either sell my car outright, or just keep it. But thanks again for your interest!
Sorry I haven't posted videos yet. My buddy that was going to do them for me started a new job this week and he's been super busy. But I'm meeting him in a few hours and we're going to go ahead and take some new video as well. A little in-car, some drive-by's, etc.
With a little luck, I actually will have them posted up sometime late tonight.
Thanks again for all of the interest! :thumb:

p.s. The closer I get to selling this car, the more I second guess myself. I REALLY, REALLY hate to let it go. So for that reason, I'm going to stay pretty firm on the price. If it hasn't sold by next weekend, I've decided I'll just keep it. I can't stand the torture.

My buddy just posted this message, and the video links. Hope they work!
This is a copy of the post he made on another board (not my words!!):
Heres the videos of the car. Theyre not of the best quality but you get the idea. The videos were filmed in .MOV format and are broken down into individual files, the name pretty much describes what it is. I used some freeware conversion program to convert them to .MPEG, and it left some gay ass thing in the middle of the videos saying to go to some website to purchase the software since it was on a trial basis, so please disregard that. The first WMV file is the walkaround, and all the other videos are bundled into one file called combo.WMV. The files are being uploaded RIGHT NOW, so some of them might not work this very second, but wait a few minutes and try again.
We werent able to convert the video footage from the track tonight because the camera was dead, but we'll get them up in the next few days if these videos arent good enough.
On a personal note, I went for a ride in the car for the first time tonight. I really dont know what to say, it scared the f**k out of me.

UPDATE:
As of this morning, I currently have two buyers "pending". One will be here to look at and/or purchase the car tomorrow. If the first person does not want it, the 2nd person has given me a verbal committment to buy it on Wedneday (the 2nd person is local and has already seen the car).
If for some reason both of these deals fall through, I will let everyone know on Thursday. Otherwise, thanks for all of the interest! I will truly hate to see this car go.

Car is currently STILL AVAILABLE.
***Just realized that the rwhp is a TYPO! It should say 680rwhp!!***
The person who came to look at/buy it today noticed that the DS rear quarter panel had some type of very minor touch-up done to it. You can see the area that was worked on by removing the carpet in the hatch. It looks like a small area (approx 4" diameter) near the tail light was lightly massaged back into place. If you get up SUPER CLOSE to the outside of the quarter panel, you can see some very fine "sanding marks" in the same small area. The Carfax came back Clean, so I'm sure that this was an EXTREMELY minor area of "touch-up". But that, along with the car "being too loud" and the windows being too dark, was enough for him to pass on purchasing it. He lives in Wisconsin and says that they are much more strict at enforcing those things than they are here. Personally, I'd have to move.
I called the other person who wanted it on my way home. He's apparently having some trouble getting financing, which he didn't expect at all. He believes the issue will be resolved soon, but decided not to commit himself to it yet.
So I will make the same offer to everyone else that I made these two people. Since I wasn't aware of the paint issue on the quarter panel, I'll allow enough in the price to more than cover it.
$16,800 FIRM
Even though I reduced the price, I have added a few more things that go along with the car. It will now include the LS1Edit Software and cable ($500 value). And I just installed a new pair of BFG Radial TA 295/50/15's on the rear. Much better if you happen to get caught out in the rain!! (yes, the MT Drag Radials are still included)
Lastly, I am only going to offer the car for sale through this weekend. If it hasn't sold by then, I will just keep it. I was sick at my stomach all day today thinking about someone else driving it away. So if it sells, it sells. If not, I'll still be happy.
Thanks again!Last edited by UPSSales; 10-03-2006 at 12:14 PM.

Had several people who said they wanted the car this week, but nobody came up with the money so far. I'm going to call it quits on waiting for a local sale, and throw it up on Ebay tomorrow night for a 7 Day Auction.
Had the car buffed, wax'd and detailed. So I took a few more pics today.
Thanks again!

And maybe it's just me, but that is WAY underpriced, I see built Cobra's putting down less than that for almost double.

NBM/Torch Red- 01 SS Blown/03 Cobra
I cant believe you're having this much trouble gettin rid of such a bad ass car. The shortblock is the only thing that steers me away from it. However, for what you're getting and as clean as the car looks its worth the asking price and then some. Good luck with the sale though!
