    Question Trouble Pulling Harmonic Balancer

The vehicle is a 95 T/A V8 5.7 LT1. We have tried several pullers, and read many websites on how to do this. Bent one puller before removing center bolt in crank, then blew the tip off the second pullers main screw. Some people are saying to line up notches and it slides right off, no luck there. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated......Please do not post if you are not sure or experienced in this .....we have tried all things listed on the net already.

Some people get fooled by the fact that they're actually pressing on the hub itself, and not pushing against the crankshaft. That would break a puller pretty easy. Are you putting a bolt of some sort inside that is pushing on the crankshaft and not the hub? It took me a second to figure it out when I pulled one

The Kent-Moore J-39046 is specifically made for this job. Most other pullers won't work. Bought new they are rather pricey. Good Luck.

you dont need to remove the crank hub to install an opti. all you do is unbolt the balancer and turn the crank so there is room for the opti to clear the hub.
