    Throttle Body and Intake Ports

Can someone explain for me the purpose of the milled pathways in the rear of the throttle body AND can you explain the small hole in the intake (behind the throttlebody and gasket) between and below the two main intake ports? It appears to route to under the intake into the lifter valley?

    Thanks

The small hole has to do with the IAC (idle air control) valve, which regulates how much air to allow in at idle, with the butterflys shut. What do you mean by the "milled pathways"?
