    1996 Trans AM WS6

    started the winter project (pics)

    i need to replace the waterpump, opti, intake mani gasket and a/c compressor. i'm a newb, i have NEVER gone this far on a car before.. learning as i go

    here is the teardown:













    getting out the a/c compressor was a BITCH!

    Looks good so far. Amazing how deep you have to tear into it to replace the Opti -- have to wonder what the boys at the General were thinking when they came up with it. I always like to see project pics on here.

    Good work op. How in the heck do you get to the spark plugs on that thing?

    Good luck with it also you may consider changing the opti harness. They get a lot of heat over the years and summit has one for a lot cheaper than GM http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEI-108097/

    might also want to look into changing your wires while you have them half way off
