    Selling Z28

    Hi guys,
I've only been a member a couple days and I have an important question. I have a 1993 Camaro Z28 with the original 350 LT1 and the 700R4 auto, but I really gotta sell it before winter to make way for a more universally useful vehicle and to help me save up money for my wedding next summer. I'm not expecting to sell it on this forum I was just hoping to get rid of it b4 the insurance expires the day after Thanksgiving and was wondering if anybody had any ideas. I have the car listed at cars.com and occasionally park it in front of a family business. Any ideas on how I could sell it quick?

And you might as well list it on here too, might get some bites?

Thanx! I'll see what I can do with that. Also I was wondering if there's anybody in the vicinity of Port Huron or Chesterfield Michigan that was interested in running against my car (before the insurance expires and me and the car go our separate ways). I haven't seen much action since I bought the car; the imports don't even think about and alot of the guys I run across in z28 TA and stangs dont even look or act like digusted jerks. I messed with a white 1995 Z28 and almost ran the guy over, but thats about the only friendly competition i've seen.

I'm really just curious what my car can do; the nearest drag strip is an hour or more away and when I went it was raining so i didn't run; being in Michigan a trip to a dragstrip now would be fruitless as I'm already seeing snow fall and our weather is unpredictable like crazy!!!

Well the car has 139000 miles on it but runs strong, exterior is gorgeous like 14000 miles, has chip (no idea what kind, not my mod) K&N filter, hi-po Posi rearend, rebuilt 700r4 w/ shift kit, Magnaflow muffler on highflow 2.5" single exhaust, MSD ignition. You know, the basics. I only did the exhaust, the rest was on the car at purchase.

It's listed at cars.com for $7500 but i'm willing to talk, especially if I could sell it this week. This week i'm willing to really bargain, whereas once December hits i might be a little less agreeable.

$7500 is way too much for a 93 with that many miles. My car is probably barely worth $5.5K and it just hit 100K miles. And I thought the 93's came with the 4L60's.

I think $4K might still be too much. I'd say around $3K-$3.5K.

Eh, he shouldn't get pissed, just our opinions on what we think a reasonable price would be. He can sell it for whatever he wants, I just don't think he'll sell it very fast with a price that high.

3,500 man, you gotta remember 93 was the first year of the body style change, and it does have an LT1, as well as being an auto.

None of that really matters, it has almost 140K miles on it. That's a lot for any car. Besides, my car is a 94 Z with the LT1, auto, bolt-ons, 100K miles, and it features stuff that the 93 didn't get from the factory, such as bigger injectors, sequential fuel injection, etc and I won't get anywhere close to $7.5K for mine.

None of that really matters? I would disagree there. Unless I'm wrong, people who are looking for V8 sports cars usually prefer a manual correct? Just as well some people are wary of the first and or second year of a body style change because of possible problems/kinds, such as you Just said, your 94 has quite a few things different than the 93, thats another disadvantage. As far as being an LT1, well no offense but there are MANY people (and no not all Mustang Owners) that believe LT1's are total pieces of crap and would never buy one. Headgasket problems and things such as that. So yes all these things do matter, obviously the mileage is a major factor but all of these other things matter as well as the fact that for 7500 you can find an LS1.

Oh, I think there has been a misuderstanding here. I think I misinterpreted your first post, as you saying the 3500 isn't enough, that he could get more for it. That's why I said mine wouldn't even get the $7500. But, I agree with you that 7500 is too much. But it would have to be a high-mileage LS1 for $7500. But despite the problems, LT1's are decent engines.

I only call it a single exhaust cuz thats what i consider it. It is the same basic routing as the factory, with a y-pipe collecting the exhaust from the manifolds and a single 2.5-inch pipe carrying it to the muffler which has dual exits (3.5-inch in this case). It looks like a dual exhaust to the average person, but isn't a true dual exhaust car, just like any other 1993 Z28.
Oh, yeah, you're right, 7500 is too much, but i have never seen a z28 selling as low as blue book, so i priced it high to see what people would be willing to pay. So far, no luck.
