OK, need some info

I just recently bought MY first camaro. 1996 Z with 104K. It needed a little work, but I only paid $2000 for it. Here are some questions I had (I am used to carb motors, mom runs 70 Z28 Drag Car)
1. Do LT1s come with aluminum heads? The ones on my car are aluminum so I didn't know if this was an upgrade or stock.
2. This optispark thing is a complete mystery. The car started missing after we did a coolant flush on it. Dried it out and ran fine.
3. Yesterday while doing the state inspection, the car started to overheat. Looked like the idiot I bought the car from put the upper radiator hose on wrong and it was kinked. Replaced it and rad cap, runs great, but motor never got over 180, and the lower hose looks like its bulging a little.
Any thing you guys can help with would be great, not quite up to speed on fuel injected cars yet.

First of all. Congrats on the purchase. Thats a steal for 2000 dollars.

These cars came with aluminuim heads from the factory.
The optispark is dowl driven from the front of the motor by your camshaft. It is a big difference from the normal carbed distributor that normally sits on the top of the motor. The optispark is a whole package unit unlike most distributors. It has the low spark and the high spark system combined into one unit. This is why these things are so expensive to buy.

I would replace the radiator hoses right away.

Again, sounds like an awesome buy for $2000.
