    My spark plugs?

I am just wonder if my spark plugs can be that bad. I am planning on giving my car a tune up this week. First of all my gas milage is horrible, I dont drive much and I have an M6 and im going through like 70 bucks a week without flooring it or anything. 2nd im not sure if the plugs are the problem but it takes my car 2-3 cranks to start it up.

How many miles? Have you checked the fuel filter? When that gets clogged your car becomes a bitch.

one of several things can cause bad gas mileage, Plugs, Spark plug wires, O2 sensor, Fuel filter, Air filter ETC. Just off the top of my mind. Try checking them all!!!!

As mentioned above plus a vacume leak, dirty MAF, exhaust leak and much much more. If you need a tune up I would start there. But I always recommend datalogging, it is the best tool anyone can have. Plus it usually ends up saving you money instead of just replacing parts.

Dude... Leaking gas = bad. Are you driving until Thursday?

Be careful. We'll all cry if some f'nut flicks a cigarette on the ground next to your car.

fuel pump. you need to check the fuel pressure with the key on (not running). you can rent a gauge, and there are writeups online telling you how to do it, or the guys at the autoparts store can probably help. And driving the car with a possible fuel leak is stupid, but could be regarded as purifying the gene pool

Data Logging is recording of perimeters on your cars computer. You will be able to see exactly what each sensor is telling your cars computer. I have been using Autotap for years now and like it pretty well, it is limited to OBDII cars. Datamaster IMO is the best for OBDI cars. For any of this you would need a laptop, datalogging software and a cable.

Where do you think you leaking gas from?

I don't know i cant be for sure, its just that my parking looks like there has been recent leaks or they are either older ones looking like its fresher (my 300ZX use to leak a lot of power steering fluid)
I will know for sure 2morrow. Also my car takes 2-3 cranks to get it started? could plugs be whats takes it so many cranks? (M6)

People have already given you lots ideas for things to check... Are you just waiting for someone to tell you it could be the spark plugs?

If the car runs fine once it is running, it probably isnt the spark plugs.
