I think your thinking of the LT4 but I could be wrong.

ya the lt4 is just the top end but the lt5 is a dohc version of the lt. it is basically the bad ass motor and back in 93 was makin 425hp from the factory. lotus built it.

Parts for an LT5 are very hard to find. Vettes with the LT5 are also hard to find.
But there is so much stuff that has to be changed to convert from a pushrod motor to DOHC, I don't think it would be worth the work (if its even possible with the same block).

"Converting" an LT1 motor to an LT5 is impossible - totally different block...and everything else. I'm sure your thinking of the LT4. In that case, GM Performance Parts offers the LT4 heads and HOT cam, but for the intake manifold, you will have to venture over to Edelbrock for their piece, as you cannot get the original intake manifold anymore

Adding to what I posted in your earlier thread... The LT5 is a completely different motor. You're probably going to pay around 10,000$ just to get an LT5 motor (used)... So by the time you got done getting a motor and completely building it, you're probably looking at 20-25K$, not including whatever it will cost just to get the motor in the car (potential chassis and frame modifications). And it was designed by Lotus, built by Mercury Marine.
